The shortcoming of the riflemen is the riflemen's range. I mean 65m? I dont understand why the devs or whatever would make sniper one of the prof titles. Would you run at a guy that has a rifle pointed at you? Would you run at a guy with a rifle when all you have is a pistol? Would you run at a guy if all you have is a flamethrower. Iv been a riflemen ever since the game has started and god damn the riflemen has a short short range. Wouldnt you think the riflemen to shot at 80m? 100m? Maybe make thier range longer but slow down the rate of fire a tad bit. And what about the cm? How is someone gonna throw a grenade farther longer then a rifle can go? I would think the rifle would have a higher max range then a pistol and carbine. I dont even know why im trying to write this, everytime I complain the csr says post on the board. The Csrs dont care about what you think, they dont care about what I tinhk. They just care about which way the money is coming and I'm starting to get sick of this. Iv voted for Vic in Bestine but I still havnt got my reward. What do you think happend? They said F off we cant help. They dont Care.

they seem to think there are technical issues with increasing the range. the fact that combat medics can throw that far isa bug (although i don't see why it couldn't be increased if it works for CM..)
as far as pistols are concerned, *most* of our weapons have the same max range, but you're going to have a heck of a time even as a master pistoleer with shooting things from far away.

I agree about the range issue. I thought it was lame since day one. I'm in the army and we have to qualify with our rifles at a range of 300m on a regular basis. The closest target we have is 50m away. This is standard distance for us to practice at without scopes and we are not snipers. Just standard shooting.

Guys this is SWG, leave realism at the door.
Having all ranged profs being able to shoot 64m is a gameplay mechanic designed (I think) to stop ranged professions from kiting each other. I can understand that, I think kiting in this game is bad enough as it is, we don't need ranged classes doing it to each other as well.
The ideal range of most rifles is in the 50-60m area, so try to keep in engagements in that range to get the max benefit of your "long range" abilities.

I know this is a game and there has to be some kind of balance so I haven't brought this up for a while. I was just agreeing and suporting evidence that our title as "sniper" has no relovence to what we actually are.

Looking through some of the new changes riflemen will be running at a slower speed, therefor, kiting should not be an issue at over 64m.

It's true that kiting sucks, but melee get so many advantages off us when they are up close. If they want us ranged guys to be close in, then don't call us ranged. They can't limit us to any closer then 64m because then we would never stand a chance in a fight. As someone else said on one of these other posts, "A TKA can swing a punch 1/3 of the distance I can shoot my rifle." I just wish that if they were going to force us to be up close in combat, then don't hamper us so much when we do get up close.

Maybe they are extending our range? Would explain why we are suppoesedly going to run slower and have to "setup" to do good damage.
