I have not played since school started last August. At that time, I was climbing in the rifleman tree. Is this still a viable tree? Will the rifles I had then still be ok to use?

Are there and updates guides for riflemen, and what should I look for in weaponry?

Thanks for any help!

1) Rifleman is currently the best ranged profession in the game

2) Your Weapons are not viable because most likely they were made with old resources that were not maxxed out and by a weaponsmith that was not a master.

3) You should get some 80% Kenetic Effectiveness Ubese Armor, Get Buffed by a Master Doctor, get Mind buffing chef food, get an ID to migrate your mind to it's max stats(ie human, 1100 mind, 1100 focus, 900 willpower), getFocus Buffing chef foods, get a dancer to buff your mind, get a Musician to buff your Focus+Willpower, and hunt whatever gives you alot of Rifle XP(Someone else help him out with that I mastered months ago and don't know what to hunt for XP anymore)

bump. Welcome back bro

I Quote: "You will likely not see many (if any) Jedi in game for a long time (likely months). We're not kidding. Jedi are rare in this time period (between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back). Becoming a Jedi and surviving as a Jedi is very very very very difficult (and rewarding) in Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided."

Here are my old school weapons. This is the absolute BEST that was available on my server in August of last year... mind you, this was before a krayt dragon had ever been killed even.

DLT20a Rifle (Sliced)

Spd: 3.9

Damage: Energy, 110, 177

Wound 14.3%

HAM cost 14, 30, 26

SG82 Rifle (Sliced)

Spd: 3.6

Damage: Cold, 110, 175

Wound 16.4%

HAM cost 25, 22, 45

Jawa Ion Rifle (Unsliced)

Armor piercing: Light

Spd: 5.8

Damage: stun, 11, 264

Wound: 8.2%

HAM cost: 14, 29, 45

Now, what I would like to know is what the difference is between these 10 - 20k rifles and the 500k - 1mil rifles that are out now?

i'd say get a good laser rifle and a good t21(max of about 400). then are very destructive. like other people have said, they are soon to be nerfing rifleman, so i'm just killing as many krayts as i can to make the big bucks before we are all screwed

Armor Piercing has become VERY important with the tough NPCs and MOBs in the dungeons and other places. Plus different kinds of damage are more important now. Stun and energy just wont cut it, depending on your play strategy. The most important rifles in my inventory are now: DXR-6b, T21,Berzerker, Jawa Ion (pretty much in that order)
TheDXR-6bdoes Acid damage and is medium AP.
The Berzerker is hard to find, but does Heat damage and is I think is light AP.

Other notes:
-- Your DLT20 is AP 0 and is Energy.
-- Your SG82 is AP 0 also.
-- Most people's Jawa Ions these days are max damage 300-400.
-- Off the shelf un-sliced T21s usually have max-damage between 350-400.
-- The higher damage comes with higher HAM costs to fire the rifle, so buy Vasarian Brandy.
Vasarian Brandy looks really expensive, but if you break it down to "cost per minute" versus Muon Gold, it is a real bargain, and there is NO downer.
