All the devs are democrats........."fairness"bah!...ever heard of "fun"?
Hell it aint even fairness-
They are slowing down our weapon speed so our DPS is closer to pistoleers and then they are slowing down our movement ontop of that.
I mean "fair" would be to balance our DPS with a pistoleer's, but to make us balanced with a pistoleer's DPS and to make us move slower then them is blatentlyunfair.
I've been playing my jedi knight on TC2, and if your target is on a hill, LOS is seriously borked. It's virtually impossible for me to hit anything at the upper end of the 32m range for saber throw already, so I can't imagine how screwed combat at 60m will be.

I've often thought that armor should have some penaltys for wearing it, besides HAM. Like negative terrain nav mods to represent how heavy the armor is.
This would be a great advantage and incentive to wear faction armor if it granted positive terrain nav mods, like say Scout Trooper armor
hehee i like your thinking buddy
I still think you are WAY over reacting. The info you're referring to is coming second hand from a frustrated Dev at FanFest.
I agree with you about the info though. I wish they would be a little more loose with it but every time they do that IT BITES THEM IN THE ASS!! Since things change so much with MMOs, anything they say is taken as gospel. Once they change their minds for one reason or another, the community outcry is legendary. So, instead of putting out info that could change, they decide to not put out any hard information unitl they are 100% of what they are going to do. This is a classic example of the Catch-22.
All we can do now is bide our time until some REAL info starts coming out. Paranoia does nothing at this point.

i think a bigger problem (if you can imagine that) will be the new LOS rules.

The current implementation of LOS is ass-backwards and you cannot shoot people unless you can see their feet. This leads to absurd situations where the best tactical position is in a ditch instead of on the high ground.
Planetside has the same problem with the auto-tracking missiles being unable to lock on because the target is standing behind a small rock or the rail on a base wall.

My personality is always going to be worst case senerio first. analyze second, and acceptance/total rejection last-That's just my personal flaw and maybe a flaw that iscommon in many people.
Though I realize that the Secret Squril Stuff is a good business practice for MMO's, releasing partial information like they just did is not. If you are going to release information it better be detailed and complete or reactionaries like myself will go wild. If they wanted to release Combat Balance info at the Fan Fest they should have released it all and not bits and peices that could be interprated in many ways.
The Cat is out of the bag already, they have crossed the threashold, they have show'n part of their plan forthe Combat Balance and that it is almost ready for publish. The Secert Squril Stuff died when Dave Started giving situational examples of what combat will be like after the combat balance. Give us your full vision then or you will sow more discord through people like myself who will assume the worst. Like also this "CM is not the problem but this bad combat system is" statement, explain how the new system will work or incure the loss of subscriptions, the building of anomosity, and continued loss of consumer confidence.
Hey look at me, I used to be one of those "The Dev's have a hard job give them time." Maybe in my heart of heart I still am, but SOE needs to build that bridge back to me, what destroyed it was total lack of meaningful communication and a feeling that my account is being taken for granted.
Also instead of buckling to outcry try to explain why you think (Example) "making Rifleman take up a position" will work and then after you hear our counter argument address our concerns(not do what we want totally, but test to see if we are right- Maybe on TC where everyone can help/see
.)
This is a bigger issue then the rifleman profession in my eyes, this to me is more about getting consumer confidence back, of fixing the reputation that SWG currently has.
