Thread: Need all your opinions if ya could

Ok so here is the deal. I was an MBH forever and decided to mix it up a little bit so I have been enjoying myself testing out new Jedi hunting templates (and general PvP as well just not the focus). First I did master pistoleer (well except the actual master box) and 4-0-4-0 and then did exactly same with carbineer only 4-4-0-0 BH of course. How those events went is a whole nother post, so why did I come here?
Thing is I have been rolling around the idea ofMaster Rifleman with one of the BH lines (have not decided) but as most of you probably know none of them directly coexist in any manner with Rifleman skills. The question is then, what do you guys think? Will that give me an effective Hunting template or am I just going to find myself not up to par without the normal doc/cm/tka assistance most people add on to their MRifleman. I really think it would be fantastic fun to drop some people with a rifle, which I havnt used since master marksmen nearly a year ago, but I would like to know the reality of the whole thing. So there it is, relatively simple question but feel free to go in depth on your responses. I look forward to checking back

This could be better answered in the BH forum since most Riflemen are not BHs, but I'll give it a shot anyways.
If you want to mix BH with Rifle in order to hunt Jedi, I'm sure it'd be plenty of fun. There are more effective templates, I'm sure, but this is one of the more unique in my opinion. If you get the bare minimum, you'll have 15 skill points left.
Minimum=Master Rifleman(anything less is useless for you) + BH 3/0/0/0(Investigation III for Jedi missions). Rifleman is surely enough to fight Jedi if they are lower-level. The harder ones will probably require you to group up regardless of your template. The extra 15 skill points will suit you best in Medic, I'd say. The main problem with this is that BH contributes nothing to Rifleman. However, the +5 rifle speed from Master Marksman is very useful

See though that is the whole thing, I dont know anyone else who has really tried this so asking on BH would all be theory and "well i guesss" crap. The reason I brought it here is because my BH skillsI known through and through but RIfleman I know jack about. Try and think of how, with just rifleman, you would fair against PvP opponents and how you would go about it without your extra templates. I'll take care of the BH part of my template, but you guys need to help me sort out the RIfleman part

Ok, I think I see what you're saying
I've seen a post or two like this in the BH forum before, so I thought they could help ya. Anyways, Rifleman all by itself is very nice. If you're buffed and armored, you can do pretty well in PvP with Rifleman skills alone. Since you'll have MM, you'll need just +2 in rifle speed tapes to hit the cap with all the specials too. 
Since BH defenses aren't the best thing you have going for you, you'll be relying heavily on the Rifleman part of your defenses. Granted, they are infinitely better than the BH defenses, they are far from what they could be if you added Rifleman defenses to Fencer or TKA. However, I'd say your defenses will be at least 'good' though not 'very good'.
You will need armor/buffs/food/drink to survive.
Is that more of what you were looking for?

People don't do this very often because BH already get a good heavy damage weapon in the LLC. Furthermore, you get better defenses by taking up the pistol side.

Sounds like you're pretty much set then. Good luck to ya if you decide to go through with it and I'd really be interested to hear back from you on how it works out

Yes that is exactly the type stuff im looking for and in regards to CMU im aware about the logical template of my MBH with carbineer or, like you said for Def, pistoleer but I have been there and done that, this is for entertainment. I do not expect to be some powerhouse, just wondered if it even made sense to try. Thanks for the promising info about only needing +2 in tapes, makes me smile indeed. And as far as food/buffs/armor goes no matter what template I have or ever will use those are constants that never leave my side
