Thread: Not shooting while prone !?

Been searching the forums for about an hour and I could not find an answer to my problem.

The problem:

I will start attacking a creature standing, shoot a couple special, a trap and move away to a better distance, I now go prone and for some strange reason my rifle will only shoot special. I then knee and my rifle start shooting again, but as soon as I go prone nothing, only special.

This as caused me many trouble since I like to stop shooting special to let my mind heal.

Any of you have the same problem?

I have noticed that if you issue a peace and then use the /attack command it will start firing from prone, but yes it is frustrating that it doesnt auto fire.

If you use cover, you can shoot normally while prone. You aren't able to /peace like this, though, you have to stand up.

Yeah it's a bummer to only be able to easily auto fire in kneel, I usually HS3 in prone and go up into kneel to auto-fire.

I've not actually tried this, if it works then you are a life saver. BTW, once you get the sneak ability you CAN /peace while under cover.

Nope, I was wrong. When this bug hits, peacing and going to attack does not always work, I hit the bug again. And tried this and it still would not work.

When I attack a mission lair I am usually covered using sneak. I like to switch to a grind rifle to finish off the lair as to not loose condition from my good rifles. i will just let the rifle auto-attack the lair. When I tested this I had to go to kneeling to get it to fire. I then went back to prone and it stopped firing.

There are some times when peacing and hitting attack will work but you cant count on it.

Yes, I think it does work when you are under cover, since I am under cover most the time. I think it is when I am prone but not covered that I run into this. I dont think may people realize that you get a to-hit bonus when covered. I can kill stuff faster when under cover.

I tried using auto-atack while prone and under cover last night and I had the same problem as when not under cover

Is this true? I don't think it's in the FAQ, all I've heard is it 'increases ranged defence'?
