Thread: Devils Advocate on Mind Stims
I hear alot of talk about making it so the mind can be stimed during battles. One thing that never gets mentioned is that while expensive, our shots are "UNHEALABLE" during the course of a battle unless you want to take breaks in the action for everyone to go to their respective camps for a quick heal session with the hired entertainer. If you get your mind stims, then yes you will be able to shot specials alot more but those people you are shooting will also be able to heal that damage because you know they are going to go out and get the same stims themselves just incase they run into a rifleman. Add in the amount of healing a doctor can do with even an average stim and you have a person that is just soaking all your damage anyway and your back to square one.
Even with mind shot bleeds, the use of stims can keep someone from going under to you. Add in the high cost of riflemen specials and the lowered PVP dmg. and you are still back to square one, only this time you gave up your one advantage. With the speed that the other professions can bring to weapon play and with the use of their specials....you will definantly look pretty when they view your corpse and show off your nifty full blue ham bar to act as counterpoint to the totally empty red and green.
I'm a rifleman and the cost does suck. But hell, I'm from the group that believes we should be able to kill someone in one shot with a T21 if we hit for max dmg. with a master level special. But since that is as likely to happen as this game ever being more than an endless loop of nerfs, fixes, and re-nerfs I might as well settle in for the long haul or just wait for my account to just pass the way of the biznatch mission....
im just curious - what pool do they want these mind stims to use? maybe the mind pool like other pools? wait nonono... how about action or health? ya ... adding mind stims makes so much sense.
wish poeple would stop whining about not being able to heal mind. we rifleman have gotten used to it - we have the double-edged effect of hitting and hurting ourselves. if we have to live with it, the benefit should be the unhealable damage.
if it is changed, which it may become when enough people moan about it, then rifleman with just become a much slower pistoleer whom attacks a healable pool.

IF they make mind healable, then they need to do the following:
1. Take away the melee penalty for rifles.
2. Give us the ability to pick our target pool. (Give us the body and leg versions of HS3, MS2) so we can pick the vulnerable pool of an individual and bleed and attack it.
3. Reduce the PvP damage reduction. If not, the team with the most docs wins.
4. give rifles a longer range than pistols.
That said. I am against healing mind damage. It is a bad idea. But with the topic heading, I thought this needed to be here. ![]()
