Rifleman Archive

I was just wondering (which is increasingly annoying for me) if there is a rebelfaction pet that has a rifle. I have tried to get almost every rebel faction pet that's 450 faction cost and have yet to find one.

I ask this because it's becoming increasingly annoying to see people run around with pistol in hand, with 3 faction pets, killing almost every kind of creature because most faction pets target the Health HAM bar. Whenever I try to kill a creature with my faction pets, I bring down the Mind HAM to about 1/4 it's level before my backup finishes off the creature's Health HAM.

I guess it's finally time to switch to the pistol... trying to fire and then heal is a lot quicker with a pistol anyways. Example: Shooting with a rifle then healing someone... 8 seconds (I'm apprentice sharpshooter and2/1/3/2 medic). Shooting with a pistol then healing someone... 4 seconds. Besides, my friend is a smuggler, so he uses pistol. Kinda sucks to do missions with him since we both target different bars. I can't even do warning shot fast enough to keep the faster creatures away... Any suggestions other than getting a spraystick?

There is an Imperial rifleman, but I don't think that will help you.

What I do, when I have my pets out hunting (which isn't very often), is tell them Guard. That way they won't attack my mark until he autodefends. Often, the pets end up taking on the other NPCs/animals that attack me before my mark auto-defends. This way, I can usually work the Mind bar down enough to capture most of the XP before the pets engage.

Faction pets are screwy.

I've seen them switch weapons, switch genders, and even switch species at times. About rifles, yes, I have seen my faction pets "switch" to rifles, but only the cdef rifle or dlt20a (can't tell the difference) and the spraystick.
