I was killing time while incapped (yet again :smileytongue and checking out skills when I happened to notice that swordsmen do mind damage. And seeing how I basically made my build from 10 years of wanting to live in star wars and not thinking clearly as to how I can survive in PVP I"m starting to re-organize and such. So I"m curious is swordsman a good add on to rifleman? I have plenty of skill points after I dump the ones I picked up to solo with I just want to know how useful it is and about how high I should climb in the 2 ladders that attack the mind. Thanks

I'm low in the rifleman tree right now, but I have the 2-handed sword maxed out in the brawler tree and it has helped me incredibly since it also does mind damage to complement what I've started with my rifles. It's the only melee attack that has specials that domind damage (except one of them does have 1 attack that does mind I believe), so I think it's a good skill to have, if you want melee.

As I go along, I'm going to migrate towards rifleman/ranger, once they put in all the fixes they're working on for rangers (shooting blinds, "bear traps", etc.) that I think will really make the sniper/hunter idea that I have in mind pretty darn good. I'll have to see how my skill points get used up as to whether I'll keep the 2-hander skills, but during the low level rifle stuff where I'm still working on some of the smaller creatures - I find it to be very useful.

TKA has a mind attack but it's at the top of the combat xp tree and isn't that great damage at the moment.

I'm a rifleman (4-1-4-3) and 2H Swordsman (1-1-1-0) and I think its great. Nothing like a greater desert womp rat whirling around to attack you after your head shot, then you pulling out a sword and slashing the hell out of it.The sweeps, especially the area ones, are a good compliment toflurry shot. Instantly takes away that 2.5 multiplier of damage you take from melee too.

I'm currently a Rifle/fencer and like it a lot.

good damage by both ranged and melee, I like fencing because my pistol friends can whip them down while we all do health damage or with rifle we can all maximize our xp by taking out hams, they health me mind.. works very well.

While I laveled up Rifleman 2 handed sword was nice. But as Master rifleman you need all mind migration you can get. The curved sword already ate tons of action, then it was worse.

At the end I skilled out of heavy swordsman and all brawling.
