Ok thisis just plain wrong. I have a laser rifle, damage 36-324. Im a novice Rifleman and against mobs with headshot 2 i do anything from 300-1800 damage.

I've just PvPed. I got off about 8 headshot2's first did 296, then 44, 42, 56, 75, 101, 41 and 42 again. How am I supposed to survive? Im seeing pistols averaging more damage a sht then I am with my sniping skills!

HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP!

That's the laser rifle for you: inconsistant.

Your first shot was 296, your other shots were mostly in the 40's. It's the luck of the draw. The laser rifle's huge damage variance means that sometimes you get massive hits several times in a row, sometimes you get crap hits several times in a row.

This is why I prefer the T21 or even an E11. The mind cost is higher on the T21 and the DPS is lower on the E11, but the minimum damage on a T21 hit is still high and the E11 has a lot less variance.

This has been talked about alot and the only answer we can give you is that at Novice Rifleman you are at a disadvantage because of attack speed. Not tell Master can Rifleman compete, BUT the diffrence is at Master we are the ones with the advantage.

Basicly Rifleman are the hunted at Novice, and become the hunter at Master.

Don't listen to silverdumbo. Guy lives in a fantasy land. At master level his damage per hit isn't changing, DUH! If he actually managed to get that many shots off in PvP I can only guess he already was a master...or at least a dcotor. In the current and soon-to-be game, rifleman are still second second class. Knockdown change will be a boon, however the uber template just switches to smuggler or BH carbine for dizzy knockdown.

If he was a Master using HS then he needs to better uderstand his abilities. It has been said a million times that Strafe shot 2 is our bread and butter. If you are not using it it is because 1. You dont have it 2. Unique situation dictates the use of another attack, or 3. you have no clue how to play a Rifleman. Zarl0k I am fairly confident you fall into catagory 3.

Strafeshot2 isa nice high dmg attack but the thing is it does'nt always work as good as HS in pvp.

If you get stim Bs made by a master doctor "which are almostalways sold on the bazaar" you can heal for up to 800 action/health per stim as a novice medic. Players with doctor buffs can get well over 2000 hp/action, add in food and they have ALOT of health. I find that players are starting to use these things far more often in pvp. So I am having to rely on my HS for alot of encounters. Strafeshot might be higher dmg but you only have to do around 700-800 mind dmg in pvp to incap someone.

Why I stated unique situations, No one attack will ever be the only one to use, but lets not ignore the fact that the majority of times we will be using strafe shot 2.

Also lets not forget that if someone is a Master Doc the best thing they could do is Max out their mind because they can use doc buffs for Health and Action. Plus we cant ignore spice and food buffs.

Basicly we can argue all dayabout "what ifs" I am not one who enjoys arguing such things.

Sorry, that means hes not Master

If a player is buffed, then I will use Head Shot, if there not I will kill them in 2-3 shots. Unless Im unlucky, and get a roll like this poster. My damage table in PvP is 100-900 with a laser rifle, Ive had 1 1150, and 1 1200 shot. Otherwise its 100-900, leaning mostly towards 600, about 50 percent of my shots land on 600.

I use the Laser Rifle, becuase its AR2, and people are starting to wear armor now. Otherwise I would use a DLT20a, for reliable damage. DLT20a, is 400-700. Also, the DLT20a, has alot less HAM costs. I now run around with a food called, Ormachek, Im hoping they fix food like they did power ups, and make it so you can make crates of food. I down 2 of these before every fight, they last about 2 minutes, and give me +88 to all my mind stats. Mind/Focus/Willpower. My guild chef isnt master yet, so we dont have better, but this makes it so instead of 101 HAM costs on the laser its a bit less. But still alot.

Usually, people dont think of healing in the fight, usualyl there down in 2-6 seconds, if they get a heal in, then they have to wait 5 seconds for another, and in that 5 seconds I will kill them. I always run around buffed, so I usually dont worry about healing. When people start getting more organized, and lets admit it, people arent very organized. And when there is the "place" or "places" to PvP, like in most games eventually one will be made. People will go there with certain things in there group. Caribineer, for AE knockdown, Rifleman for AE dizzy and high AE damage, Combat Medics for ranged heals/poisons, Doctors for buffs, squad leaders for mind regen, and then your average damage monkeys.

Theres no doubt in my mind, when all the begining players hit master, something like this will happen, you will probably see alot of 10 man groups, 8 man groups, trying to be the best they can be. Becuase this game has 2 end games, 1 roleplay, 2 PvP. And Im betting 90 percent of the people pick PvP. This isnt much of a PvE game, no awsomeloot, no awsome mobs to kill, ect. Theres no static spawns, its all random. You will then see alot of FOTMs probably, changing there spec to go with the flow, and in this game its not hard at all. Im guessing, if servers do it right, the places to PvP, will be were someone places there base. Another person will place there base near by, and bam, you have a player ran battlefield.

This happened for a little bit on our server, there was a Tactical Base (ours, Imp), and 2 Rebel forward outposts. About a minutes walk from AH, maybe less, it was fun, but 1 of them was a CSRs forward outpost for testing, and the other had it re-imbursed becuase there broken right now

Sorry for the long post I got carried away, I didnt even finish.

But Armor Rating doesn't work in PVP...on weapons or armor.

It works on armor, only if they have the resists listed. If they dont have the resists listed, then it acts as AR0.
