Thread: what is suprise shot supposed to do
I reallize it doesn't work, although i read it's fixed on test center. The thing i'm wondering is what exactly does it do?
It's the only style in the game that requires you to first get your self into another state that takes time and has a very high failure of successfully getting into it. It's also the only ability i've seen that has an entire defense skill devoted to defending against it... alertness.
Mon Calamari get alertness as a racial bonus, which ups our chance of defending against this ability. Some skill grants a bonus defense to this as well, but i forget what it is.
Looking at both of these things, i'd assume it's supposed to be a VERY powerful ability. Perhaps it's the SWG version of ice comet? well, ice comet as it was before any EQ expansions anyway.
Hmm I wonder if it has higher damage than SS2, we could start seeing one shotting back again.

Ive changed my views on the laser rifle, even though its drain is so big, and half the time, I do like 100 damage, those token 1 shots are always good.
Surpriseshot is supposed to be the highest dmg rifleman attack. Atleast according to swgcenter's weopon special move database. It makes sense becuase it is the only move that can only be fired from a prone/covered position.
And yes strafeshot2 is nice also.
I just realized, some guys gonna try it for the first time on a server somewhere, and the random number generator will land .9999 and he will insta kill the womp rat he's shooting at giant flashing letters will appear on his screen
SUPRISED!?!?!?!?!
At which point the poor sod suffers an epeleptic seizure and the truth of suprise shot is learned by all.
