Thread: Conceal Shot or Mind Shot 2?
Well, I'm about to reach my first rifleman box, and I'm wondering which one of these I should pick first?
Can someone give me a brief description of how Conceal Shot works? And how effective it is...
If you use a pet (even a weak one like rock beetle) MS2 is much more useful.
Conceal shot lets you shoot things without having them aggro on you. While this sounds great in theory, in practice you get killed a lot when the creature warps on top of you, you have to move around a lot because creatures maintain their normal random wandering pattern while you're blasting away with conceal shot, and IT'S RANDOM POOL so ittakes forever to kill things. Pet + ms1 + ms2 + power attack of choice will get exp much faster than conceal shot.
It's not completely useless - you can use it to solo hard things that have interesting loot (peko albatross, etc) - but it's not a very good choice for your first skill.
Ok, I do have a mountain Krevol that helps me out... so I'll go w/ MS2
if i had to do it over and was going rifle first i would have picked MS2
IMO, go straight up the Counter sniper tree to expert level then do whatever you want till you master. Flurry Shot 2 is your friend.
I send my pet into a PVE lair, all the current spawns baf on him. I flurry shot2 and hit all 3-5 targets for 1500-3000 with my current cliced weapons, at the cost of one special move. Instead of hitting ONE target at the cost of one special move.
but be careful, if all the targets in your cone arent in combat they will retrain on you.
I almost never use conceal or mindshots anymore.

I haven't called out a battle pet in over 3 weeks, I've been helping some guildies out hunting force sensitives.
2 fencers out front tanking, 1 rifleman, one novice marksman (aka weaponsmith).
Since I'm the Tracker and Point Man, I Conceal shot 2 or 3 times as the fencers charge, a quick flurry (2x) if it sticks the force sense is dead.
You would be shocked to see how fast a 14k mind pool goes down, when a 1600 + 800 mind bleed is planted, then auto and a head shot hear and there. All the fencers have to do is last a few minutes up front. The damage really comes from the rear of the group.
Now as for pve I can agree a pet out front and its all about strafe2/flush2/flurry2
sounds like that works well for you, however I do solo a LOT so the time it takes to take down a target with no pet and conceal versus a pet and flurry( and master level strafe 2 ) makes pet/flurry a better option for me.
I'm very close to mastering and I'll probably be using conceal with cover for pvp full time when that happens.
Sef....
I havent had a lot of time to read the forums lately. What is this about a Conceal Shot nerf on TC? (You might remember the very first thing I said when I read about conceal shot being fixed is that it now sounded nerf-able!) Any details?

CH and the AT-ST's are getting nerfed also. Time to do some powergaming if you rely on pets to advance
Heh my alt has CH and an AT-ST so I'm planning on hitting master in 2 weeks max. ![]()
Going to be one hell of a grind.
