Note: These are the notes for the last 1 1/2 month. A lot of this is on testcenter for a long time, and a lot is actually already on live. Check the dev tracker for the complete post. I just got some rifleman bits here for discussion.

All new HAM cost system for combat - Special moves take from the max value, but regenerate much, much faster. The end result is that HAM spent on special moves regenerates MUCH faster than damage, so it should make combat more dynamic.

Ok, we already heard about this one. I think it's great for rifleman IF regen is fast enough.

Added to-hit bonus for melee vs. ranged weapon attacks. This is a replacement for the damage multipliers and a sub-feature for the damage mitigation addition. If you use a ranged weapon against a melee combatant, you are easier to hit.

Ok, so instead of damage multiplier, we are easier to hit. May be a good deal, not sure. Definately negates some of the benefits of the Rifleman/TKA templates for melee defenses.

Performance buffs now modify the players base attribute not their current max attribute.

So you can't take a moun gold and get a buff based on the buffed stat now. Effectively reduces the potential of mind buffs again. Still much inferiour to the HA buffs from docs. However, using the spice/food before mind buff thing was borderline exploit anyway.

DECLARED players will be set to COVERT when they logout, and set back to DECLARED 60 seconds after the next time they login. (Preventing attacks during Login/Logoff)

DECLARED players will be changed to COVERT when traveling until 60 seconds after arriving at their destination.

Not really rifleman realted, but very interesting for PvP. Will reduce/remove that stupid starport camping. Might be exploited in some other way though.

Added rifle butt animations.

I have no idea what this means. While some people hope this is some form of "rifle butt melee attack", I assume they just mean that rifles that are made with a stock now actually LOOK as if they had a stock. Purely cosmetic, but I may be wrong.

* Rifle *

Removed old rifle crawl skill mods (unused)

Increased rifle accuracy

Increased rifle Aim Accuracy

Increased melee defense

Increased ranged defense

Increased block mods

Increased ranged defense mods

Again, old news. It's probably the stuff that is already on live.

Lowered rifle melee damage penalty

I think that is the part where the 2.5 modifier was removed. But again, I may be wrong.

Rifleman

Added "Sniper Support Skill" for Rifleman. Riflemen shooting creatures and NPCs at greater than 50m have a much better chance of drawing a single social creature from a crowd (versus the entire group of angry mobiles immediately charging at the rifleman).

So, we might become the designate puller for group hunting? I like that, though I'm afraid we might have traded our conceal shot for this.

That's about it. Of course, they also added vehicles and heavily modified CH (and I think the term "nerf" is in order here, both for the leveling process as well as for the actual pets you can use, at least as long as you are not Master).

Thoughs? Comments? Anyone actually tested those things?

Hmm. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that rifle crawl speed was removed "since it didn't work anyway" (though I sitll think they should have fixed it instead of jsut removing it). I might have just missed it in the notes.

As I said at the beginning: These patch notes are OLD. It's jsut the first time we have notes since about 6 weeks ago. So a lot what is posted there may be on Testcenter for a long time, and some of it is even on live already. So I don't think they incresed any defense or accuracy again. I think this is the note for back then when it was supposed to be in the notes...
