Thread: Quickest way to get 39k cmbt exp?

i'll tell you how i did it.. not sure if it was the quickest way or not.


had a spraystick from my marksman days that was down to 100 condition. i used it on lairs spamming specials with a powerup til it degraded to zero condition (this is important later).


then, bought a bunch of c12 grenades... like crates.


took piket missions on dantooine. selected non-social ones (they're out there.. piket longhorn females, i think).


using a fast laser rifle with a speed powerup, slap ms2 and ms1 on the piket.. reapplying as necessary to get a good bleed. Do NOT let the weapon autofire. 1 auto attack ruins the process.


switch to the zero condition spraystick. have a macro ready that fires warningshot and then applies peace. use this on the piket when the bleed ticks off and it charges you. chase the piket if it runs away til it turns and charges you again. after 2-4 successful warning shots, the piket will slow to "easy kite speed." the warningshots do 0-1 pt of damage each due to the zero condition spraystick.


kite the piket til it reaches 1 pt of mindpool from the bleed. at this point, be overjoyed by the fact that the devs put in the "can't bleed to death" fix. lob grenades at the piket til one hits and it dies (it may take several tries). since the only valid damage source (grenade) is greater than the damage done by the warningshots, you will get pure combat xp for the kill... i averaged around 2k-3k combat xp for each piket (did fierce piket protectors too.. you can do this on alot of stuff, but watch resists.)


if you accidentally do rifle damage greater than the grenade damage, you will get zip for xp.

I did mine a different way.


I hit with a mindshot 1/2 combo then I let fly with traps.


After the beastie dies you will get your normal Rifle Exp as Combat Exp.


I used leviasqualls because I can run faster than them. I have heard a rumour that these guys have been Nerfed so you might want to check that.

Get the C12 grenades, sure. Forget the rest, too complicated. Get in a group, and toss them like there's no tomorrow. With C22's and glops (that do better dmg, so my times might be faster than what it might take you) it took me 30 min to get 30k combat xp against pickets and voritors. Used glops on voritors and C22 on pickets. Good luck, Col-Forbin.


Ps--Keep an eye out on your HAM, cause the use up quite a bit. Also be careful tossing nades close to a lair, the AOE is working and it will cause the creatures to jump on you, regarless of using a tank or not.

I am currently a 4 4 4 3 rifleman and need 39k cmbt exp to finish it to become master. Anyone have any ideas that will help me get it?

max it out with pistoleer and get 0-0-0-3 =D lol... anyway.. there is an easy way... but it requires fein death

sad thing of it all is that two days after i mastered rifle i maxed my rifle XP at 900k and two days later maxed my combat XP :/ it is so fast at master and sooooo slow before then. its gonna make ya sick.

how does that work? for those of us without grenade certs, that's not possible-- we can't deal enough grenade damage to get any xp. glops are a commando cert, and if a non-cert'd player uses them, i think they hit for 30 pts or some such thing.

warning shot with a 0 condition spraystick is your friend, dude. you can save the heals-- you'll never get hit

Everyone except Wookiees start out with C12 grenade certs. Wookiees have the cert. mispelled if I understand correctly.


My problem with grenades is that if you throw them too close to yourself, you also get hit for damage.

Say you go through all this and master that Combat XP tree in Rifleman before ANYTHING else, how much easier will the rest of rifleman be now that you have that tree mastered?

Target a bol, and mind shot 1, mind shot 2, peace and move away.


Put away your rifle!


When it aggroes,run around like mad, healing yourself and hitting peace.


When the critter is almost dead, throw a grenade to finish the last point of mind damage.


repeat 12-15 times. You get about 3.3k combat xp each.
