I would like to know how to really use assist. Sure enough i can use assist, to change my target, but i cannot use special attacks, unless i click on the target. Is there any /command that will let you change the "combat" target.

if i want to assist Adawen i type /assist adawen

and it will let me use special attacks?

i haven't tried, but would "/ui action combatTarget" work?

If you have "no target", you automatically aquire your Combat Target. So, do /assist and then once you have your target's combat target, click off them to take it as your lookat target.
