Thread: Question getting XP , Pickets vs Baz Nitch's....
I've read 5000 xp is the cap. I hunt on dantoonie too. I hunt Picket Walkers mostly, and Huurton Stalkers when I come across them. I get an average of 4k per kill. If I take a picket walker layer as a missions, I can count on approx 40k xp and 9k credits. I love dantoonie. I've never gone the other rout, but when I drop a Picket Walker for 4500 or a huurton stalker for 4600, how much better can you get than that?
I am currently 3,1,3,2. But in 12k combat xp, I will go train again and be 3,3,3,3.
My question is how much do Baz Nitch give and how difficult are they in comparison? Thanks!
I can't recall exactly how much the Baz Nitches gave me, but I'm fairly sure the exp was not that different from Pikets. However, I would say pikets are much easier, not on account of the difference between a Piket and Baz Nitch, but rather the difference between hunting on Dantooineor Darthimore.
I used toget 5000xp forGiant BN once I had one tree to level four, not sure if you're talking about those or the normal Baz Nitch.
Pikets are amazing xp, I grinded rifleman out the hard way the first time around. This time however I've gone for the at-st attacking lair then AE all the pikets method, it's so much faster.
I never liked pickets personally, they seemed to take a longer time to kill.
Mutant/Giant Baznitchs though were fun for me, cation I am a CH alsothough and Baznitchs seem alot faster than Pickets.
For thispast weekend, I had some specific XP grinding goals (i.e.,XP targets) to reach. Having read the many recommendations on this board about both Pickets and Baz Nitches, I decided to achieve those goals hunting those two critter types, something I had not done up to then. On Friday night, I went to Dant, and on Saturday, I went to Dath. Thus, I have some pretty fresh recollections by which to compare. Now, let me say from the outset, this is not a scientific analysis since I used different techniques in both hunts. On Dant, I hunted solo and did not use a pet. On Dath, I used a pet some of the time, I spent more time there, and for a while a friend joined me. So a direct comparison would not be appropriate. However, I can say this.
I am somewhat kicking myself for not having done either of these hunts before now, but if I had to do it all over again, I would probably have spent the whole time on Dath as opposed to going after the Pickets on Dant. I just felt the baz nitches were easier to deal with, but as I said, the comparison is not too valid since I used different techniques on both planets.
On Dant, I attacked the female pickets first or used concealshot, so I almost completely avoided any BAF issues and, thus, did not need a tank. But I also did not get to use my area effect (AE) shots as much, so things took a little longer. Still, I did 100k XP by the time I left.
On Dath, I used a pet some, and part of the time I had a friend with me, so I also was able to use AE shots, whichincreased the speed by which I was able to clear a lair. Of course, this also meant that I had to deal more with BAF issues (especially when it was just me and the pet), but I have had more problems with other BAF creatures at lower levels than these, so I did feel they were easier to deal with despite the other factors. By the time I was done with Dath, I had accumulated another 440k XP (plus, of course, the additional combat XP in both cases). In fact, after my friend left, and I had just a little more XP to go to meet my goals, I ran across a lair of mutant baz nitches and was able to quickly finish off my goals. The mutant baz nitches were giving me 4600k per kill, and were not that difficult to take down using Concealshot and no pet.
In all, you cannot go wrong hunting either creature. Both give good XP, and both were enjoyable to hunt. But I just enjoyed my time on Dath more than I did on Dant.
By the way, if you do go to Dath, be on the look out for Escaped Slaves of either the Nightsister or Singing Mountain Clan variety. They yield about 3k XP per and are reasonably easy to kill for the XP. Most of them also seem to do ranged attacks, so there is less chance you will take melee damage. On the way back from completing my first baz nitch missions, I ran into some Escaped Nightsister Slaves and they attacked me (imagine that, running into something on Dath with 'attitude'). They spawned quite a few per spawn and respawned for some time. After clearing that spawn point, I found another of the Singing Mountain Clan variety right next to it. By the time I cleared both spawn points, I had accumulated just over 100k XP. I ran into a couple of more spawns of escaped slaves elswhere as well that day. They helped a great deal in achieving my goals for the weekend.
I grinded with Crimson Blurggs on Endor. 4500 xp, 2 per spawn, 3 spawns per lair, and 11k credits per mission to boot. The don't deathblow, and if you run across regular Blurrgs they are 5000 xp each. All with conceal shot, so it took a while, but the money vs xp was high enough to make it worth it. I know the question was over Baz Nitches and Pickets, but while leveling I did both and ended up doing the Blurggs. Just my opinion, good luck!
