Thread: Flushing Shot2 AoE effect broken ?
Tested it out several times now, mostly on newbie mobs around the starter cities.
I aim at one mob, preferably one that is close next to others.
I fire, the battle spam reports I hit 5 mobs for example, I even see the floaty numbers above their heads, but nothing happens, their HAM is still intact, only the one I actually had in target died.
So whats going on here ? Anyone else seing this.. or just me ?
I discovered this a long time ago. The dmg will only be done if all your targets are currently in combat. IF they are not the creature will think it was dmged and agro you. I submitted a CSRticket and they said it is a known issue....basically get used to it.
The way I get around it is use a pet to attack a lair when all the critters start attacking your pet let loose with your flushing 2 till your mind rots
i have noticed the same problem. some times i will do very slight damage to the surounding mobs.
also a lot of times, strafe2 simply will not work. i hit my hotkey repeatedly, it goes in the que, but nothing happens. no shot fired, no nothing.
i often notice also, that i pay for shots which dont get fired. as in, i watch the combat spam, and im using up about twice the ham i should be.
They made the change on purpose....For whatever reason, they decided that landing that first shot on multiple mobs was unbalancing (this is all ae's for every prof). Now the first shot will hit the one you have specifically targeted, but none of the others unless they are already aggro'd on you ora pet.
No problem if you *do* use pets....can be quite annoying if you don't (depending on the difficulty of the mobs you're hunting).
Thanks for the quick replys everyone.

this is from your targets being out of Line of Sight. sometimes, LOS can be broken by stuff that's not even rendered by your graphics card yet (small rocks at 50m are terrible for that)
so, if your shot deducts mindpool ham, but does no damage, this is why. if neither you or the creature move, it will happen with each shot. easy to test, too... park yourself behind a big rock, target a creature, and spam strafe 2. you'll see it happen.

An important note is that, while LOS is the problem here, strafe 2 does not actually have an animation. So when you fire it... things take damage, but you shoot nothing at all. DAMAGE FROM JESUS! BOOM ZAP CRASH
You can work without pets and still get the advantage...just use droids. Yes, they can't tank, and yes, they don't do damage, but they can take aggro. So send a cheap probot in to attack a lair, wait for the beasties to aggro, flushing 2 until all are dead, using the LAIR as the target. Everything is in combat with your droid, so they all take the damage. Very effective.
Drawback is you'll need a few droids to take the hits and cycle them...against strong opponents, they won't last long.
Of course, this works well for pets too. But I LOVE the technique for harvesting orders.
