I have begun rifle and find several things in the current mechanics of this profession to seem rather unrealistic when comparing rifle use in real life to that of the game. Yes, there are a few profession specific abilities that are supposed to mimic some of these advantages, but some (from what I hear) aren't working currently, or others do not yet exist but realistically should:

1. Rifle, especially when considering snipers, should have a far greater range than other weapons. The advantage to rifles is their ability to pick off opponents from a distance. There isn't all the rolling, trick shooting, fast drawing moves of pistoleer. What thereshould be, is a range difference betweenrifles and all the other guns that has rifle taking carefully aimed shots from far greater distances.Realistically, you should be able to get quite a few rounds off with a powerful rifle before the opponent can even determine your location and then close within range for their weapon (unless they use a rifle too). Of course, once detected, the trade off is that rifles don't work well when the target is at point-blank range.

2. Given the range comment above, a certain element of sneaking is involved in using a rifle to its full potential. I realize this skill already exists in the rifle tree, but from what I have heard, it does not currently work. Something that removes the snipers little dot from other player's radar screens would likely be enough if the rifle had a longer max range than the standard 64m. Snipers would actually need to crawl around and hide in the natural cover (under bushes, etc.). A sniper "blind" or "dug out" could be a kit fashioned item like Ranger camo kits, allowing snipers to hide themselves from close proximity view, thus making their character invisable if not detected. Again, they would need to remain stationary and if found, we're back to their biggest trade-off: poor melee defense.

I am sure neither of these two are new ideas, but as I expressed above, I am new to the profession.
