Thread: Efficient Attack of the Mind Pool...
Some targets are tougher than others and when they DO find out where I am they come a chargin'!
My question: What is the current consensus on "up close" and personal mind pool attacking. Are these my options:
1) Kite the mob and continue headshot with rifle?
2) Switch to 2h Axe and use Mindshot (slow)?
3) Switch to Hand-to-Hand (TKA)
4) Throw traps that affect mind?
5) Efficient combination of the above?
I realize that hunting the mindpool on creatures can be very situational. I tend to do missions and also wander the countryside in search of other missions or adventure.
As always, the advice here is much appreciated )
Trinnity.
Heres what I do...
I also lay on the ground and can ALWAYS get 2 shots off before the MOB starts to charge... Once it does I either:
-1) Get up and run away while laying on the warnign shot. Once it hits, it will force the creature back to a safe distance where I can get another headshot in. Then it'll charge again, and Ill fire another warning shot...and repeat. I find this technique much better after you get mindshot, because its always draining thier mind....even when its running back.
-2) Pull out the old 2 handed ax and lay on the head hit. I would like to reach Swordsman eventually, but its way second to my rifleman carrer...so Im not opposed to using the sword, Id just rather get more rifle xp.
-3) Throw a couple traps that effect thier mind. This is mostly on creatures I think will give me a beating. Once thrown I usually kite and headshot, or stand there and use the ax.
Im not much farther than novice rifleman so I cant really tell ya any strategies that utilize the higher skills.
A couple of options that I use:
1 - Stand up, Throw your Phenactirine (sp?) trap (the snare one), and once it takes, kite the mob while using headshot
2 - Stand up, run up hill (the steeper the hill the better), and kite the mob while using headshot. Obviously, this only works if you're working on mastering Scout as well as Rifle.
3 - Stand up, switch to pistol, and bodyshot till dead. This option is only viable if the mob dies to 1 or 2 bodyshot hits (a light blue, or a green baby mob). This is usually what I use when I get an additional mob to the one I've sniped. Basically, I'm just getting the annoyance mobout of the way.
