What is weapon slicing and what profession does it?

How does it improve my weapon? What are the drawbacks for having it done?

Weapon slicing is done by smugglers and it can increase the weapon in it's statistics's (mostly higher damage and faster shooting times) However it decreases the lifespan of the weapon. I don't recall by how much although maybe someone else can fill that in for ya.

The slice can also fail but no worries as it will not destory the weapon you will simply just not get any bonus's and the weapon cannot be sliced again once the first attempt has been made regardless of whether it succeeds or fails.
