I find powerups to be essential with my rifle, and have been playing with many of them. I just cant seem to narrow down which powerup / statsworks best with my rifle.

What do you use (powerup stats)and why?

Thanks.

I try to get Quick-charge couplers for my laser rifle. They boost the fire rate of the weapon, and since the laser rifle is such a slow rifle, it helps out. I'm not sure what the best stats on one is, but if I can getmy hands on a 30% speed boost, I'd take it.

I use ones with at least a +20% - +30% mind pool drain (meaning they take less % out of your mind pool). I like to spam on the special attacks, and dont want any downtime of waiting to regen my mind pool.

I havent really found speed increase very usefull. I can ALWAYS get 2 shots off before the MOB charges, than I just lay on the warning shot and its back to a safe distance. So speed is really not an issue for me.

If my powerup has a secondary trait of less pointblank pentaly, than cool! Otherwise Im really not going to look for one, as I find they too arent to usefull. Most of my fighting is done at a safe distance.

The only other one I would be somewhat interested in is the one that increases your min damage. I have a laser rifle with about 10 - 300 damage. So the max damage isnt slacking at all, it just sucks to hit something at minimum damage.

Just so everyone's aware, using powerups will increase the decay rate of your weapons. That +30% mind is costing you credits because you'll have to buy a new spraystick/laser rifle soon. And if you're a rifleman not using one of those, you need to upgrade my brotha. (Where oh where has my T21 gone? Oh where, Oh where can it be? With its beautiful range and its damage like none, oh where... oh where... can it be?)

Uh... does anyone really care if their rifle wears out a little bit faster because you use a power up? It's not like credits are hard to come by. Anyway My preferance is for Min dmg increasers. I still use a dlt20a, since I can't beat the reliable dmg and lowstat cost with any other rifle. With my rifle powered up to increase the min dmg I know every fight that I can take my target out.

Now min dmg increase isn't going to work on every rifle, if the min dmg is really low, like say a laser rifle, then increasing it 30% doesn't do a whole heck of a lot.

I make power ups alot, and the best I have 2 I have made so far are:

muzzle +32.7% max dmg/+15 mind cost

Barrel +32.7 max dmg/+15 min dmg

Powerups I make are the Couplers . I grind out a hundred of em with 9 Exp. points to play with and good materials I am getting the speed up ones to give my rifle a 27% speed boost . Every five I make I usually get one Quick Charge , and I sometimes get a Quickcharge of Aiming , which gives my DLT20A a 27% speed boost and a 15% mininum damage boost .

I find the DPS on the DLT20A hard to beat . Solid conistent 500 - 600 Mind Pool damage with a HeadShot II that NEVER misses . Add that Quickcharge and your in business . Like my Sprayer for close encounters and I'll be switching to Pistol with the BH Eye Shot soon .

There is the Powered Scope of Targeting that will give a good speed boost along with a Special Move Mind cost reducer as well .

In fact , why hoarde this info when I'm sure all of you guys will enjoy it too .

Also just picked this up on another thread , food buffs may increase a players Mind related Pools by as much as 1500 , so say goodbye to Special Move Mind costs in the near future . Will post the specific foods that buff our Mind HAMs as soon as I find it in the chef forum ....

Question..........how many powerups can you add to a rifle? I mean can you add barrel, stock, grips...you kow do a COMPLETE customization or are you only allowed one or two per weapon?

Thanks

The best way to look at powerups is fromt eh prospective of special ammo ,.. only one power up will fit a weapon at oen time,.. as a clip ina normal firearm.

the difrences in power up types makes your gun configurable ,..

Ie youare soembody that prefers to fight the closequart fight you woudl want to attach say a muzzel with 33% decrease to close combat ,.. or say a long shot artist with a slower dl model rifle ,.. you might go with a 33% dmg add bettign your snipign skills and a heavy dmg will do the trick ,.. or ven try to min the penatly in the weapon by going with s speed increasing attachment ,..

as you can see it is quite possible to suit guns to specific needs ,..

my sufggestion is to have 2 guns min ,.. one power uped for rang / dmg or speed , the other for close combat roles and unexpected ago ,.. first attack from a max range ,.. ( that too can be adjusted in powerup to extend a long ways) then as the monster closes stun or special shot it to make it stop or slow change guns for close combat and finish ,.. but there are many many styles fo attack that can be used , powerups can be fitted to meet any style.

Artisans can repair weapons too. Does aWeaponsmith's Weapon Assembly skill help when repairing? The repair tool does look just like the crafting tool.

I only make Couplers, and mostly use Quick charge on my laser rifle. And I only use ones that I max out - +32% to speed. I sometimes use hot wired as well, but depends on the situation
