Thread: Any help for a grinder?

As a novice rifleman of 0/0/2/2 I am finding my butt kicked on a regular basis against crazed gurrecks of all things. My problem is undoubtedly based on the fact that I suffer so much damage as a penalty to using my rifle against a melee opponent. The point blank range on my rifles suck and even with a full complement of buffs and brandy, I find it MUCH harder to survive than normal. Which is the best rifle to use for a grinder, and does conceal shot really do what it says it does?

Conceal shot basically allows you to 'spam' the it until the mob is dead, undetected. There is a chance it will 'break' and you will be detected.

Some people switch to a spraystick at close range for the better accuracy and speed. You might also want to try out a droid tank.

Well, if you can afford it... get a full set of composite, a spraystick and kill pikets on dantooine. (Or baznitches on dath, incase dantooine is as busy as usual). Im sure buffs wont hurt either.

*sigh* while in theory the above suggestion SHOULD work, it clearly WON'T. Crazed gurrecks are easy for most professions to kill for decent xp, some not even requiring buffs. The problem I have is that whencreatures attack me at a range of 1m, I not only can't hit for s**t, I also end up dead rather quickly even with buffs, which I believe I made quite clear I possessed. I also have a full supplement of compo armor (or all I can wear at least). Each time I die, whether or not I insure, my armor suffers big time and I simply don't have the creds to buy new pieces over and over just because the repair kits are crap

Well this is how I did grind to master.

80% kinectic composite, master doc buffs (I am master doc) , 2 drinks of brandy. Then I did huurton missions on dantooine, payment 10k. I did kneel 9 m away from the lair, target the lair withmy drx-6 rifle equiped and then let my pointblankarea 1 macro work. After a while all huurtons were dead and I did do that all the way to master. I did start out as 0/0/0/3 rifleman because I had 300k of combat xp from my days as a swordsman. Use speed powerups if you did get a dmg slice on your weaponuntil you have turned 0/0/0/3 or 0/0/0/4. I hope it works.

I know accuracy is a problem at the lower levels, which is why you should use a spraystick. It wont be that bad, but i suggest you go up the accuracy tree first just in case.

I'm a little surprised your having difficulty, here is what I am doing....

Started 0003 - I am a Master TKA as well so had the 300k combat xp

Went to 4004 - Accuracy and Speed,I did Rebel missions for this part of the grind, they don't melee, they stay at range and shoot back. Composite, Buffs, Brandy...never got DB'd.

Now I am on Dath doing Biz Natches(and whatever else is nearby)for the last two trees, Ubeze Armor, Buffs, Brandy...have not gotten close to being DB'd. I actually only ever see white on my mind bar unless I get multiple creatures on me like the other day...2 Biz Natches, 2 Gapping Spider Hunter and a Kwi Guardian...still, I got them before they got me

I kneel at 64m, use a T21 until they get close then switch to Jawa (Biz Natches = no stun defense).

250K xp per buff run easily.

Good Luck

im going master rifleman again soon.... this is what i did and u get master SOO FAST. Get a master swrodsmen or any kind of tank. GO to the Geo Cave on yavin and there is a spawn room of about 15 crazed geonisions.. Get 0/0/2/0 for the dxr-6 rifle(acid because geo's are vuln to it) and get 0/0/3/3 or 0/0/3/0 or 0/0/0/3, so u get a area atack, flushing shot 2 and fluryshot 2 both cone attacks or area forgot.. and get ur friend to tank for u and spam it with a speed pup'ed dxr-6 and u get xp hella fast.

Problem is:

dxr-6 is off the commando skill tree and not certified for by the rifleman tree

What is your macro for point blank area and how are you able to pull all the mobs to you just shoot the lair and they come?

Forgot about this one. It's something like

/point

/pause x (depends on rifle speed)

/ui action toolbarSlotxx

Yeah, the lair shooting would work I suppose.
