Thread: Why I became a Rifleman... or, The woes of a Wookiee

OK, I admit I let the allure of being a big, overgrown, Walking throw rug get the better of me when I first started up this game and went through my first character generation way back in the third week. But Wookiees looked so cool... and they got that Hit point bonus!! I mean the extra few hundred health and action points looked really valuable back then. Who would have guessed that everything combat related would have been driven by the PvP faction and PvP considerations.
And I admit that when I took up a profession as a Bounty Hunter I was intrigued by the mystique and strength of the profession. How could I know that as the game evolved through the progressively louder and louder levels of complaints about imbalance my survivability without ANY armor or defensive bonuses at all would become less and less possible even in my chosen field of strictly PvE encounters!!
So, with all this weighing on my head I made the decision to switch professions over and become aMaster Rifleman/MCH. It would be great, I reasoned, to stand of a distance, send in my pet and blaze away with my rifle. I would not have to depend on anyone else to schedule around my screwy lifestyle. Now as I approach Master level, 4/2/2/4 I am beginning to wonder. I took on some Mokk's on Dantoonie last night and barely escaped with my life!! Those tings bear the ever living' crap outta my Level 30 Vest!!! And then they came and chased my furry butt all over the landscape!
The point of this long winded narrative is... I have considered giving up on Rifle (After Mastering that is) and going back to BH as I am hearing a LOT of people talk about how that is going to be a good profession for the Jedi Quests.
Opinions? Comments? Advise? It's ALL welcomed..... as long as there are no flames involved! Wookiee hair smells TERRIBLE when singed!

It's kind of hard to give you any advise until we know what is going to happen with the combat revamp. However I would try to find a profession that you enjoy and can work with.
Right now my personal template is Master Rifle, Master TKA, and Swordsman 0/4/4/4. I like it for PvE as I don't PvP hardly at all. Rifle is great at range and if they close I can switch to TKA or Swordsman.
Also, get some Wookiee armor. It helps a lot.
