Thread: Tactics (PvE)
Currently, I have the following for weapons:
Advanced DLT-20
Damage- 127-207
Speed- 5.1
The thing is, at 'ideal' range (between 20 and 50m), this is great at my level. I'm taking basically everything out in two Headshot1's. However, I can't use this to destroy a lair. The missions I'm getting, the creatures con white, so it shouldn't be too hard if I take em on one at a time. But, at Point Blank (under 20m or so), the rifle has -70 accuracy, and my skill mods just aren't turning that into anything that hits solidly.
Basically, I'm hitting like one in five, if that, when the mobs run up to me. Should I do what I started doing (Switch back to my 29-49 damage, 3.5 speed CDEF Rifle after taking out the already spawned mobs and taking one shot at the lair) or look for something else? It just seems kinda crappy to me, having to use a much worse rifle simply because of range mods... Though every rifle I've looked at is like this, but any help? I don't know how to 'cope' with this. Should I keep doing this until it doens't really matter, go to Dant ASAP and get into a Vor group so I can stay back and lob blaster bolts at creatures at leisure, or something else?
Thanks.

Alright, I'm relativly low still, but hoping to get up to Novice Rifleman by the weekend at the latest.

what i did at low levels was to stay at range and stayed prone and shoot at one target 4 times then stop whether i hit or missed. then i moved to the next target staying at ideal range shooting it 4 times and so on until each target was hit 4 or missed 4 times. then i would pick the closest one go to ideal range and kneel and start shooting. of course at low levels your dont have single pull skill so the the effect was basically i had 2-3 pissed targets with about half the ham they did before i started.
for mission lairs gotten off a mission terminal:
dont shoot the lair until all the spawns are dead. once you kill them on a fresh lair shoot the lair ONCE with a standard non special attackand stop shooting and wait for the spawns. repeat step one
now you have a lair missing health and two dead spawns of critters. now commence shooting regular nonspecial shots on the lair until it is about half dead. then shoot one shot and peace waiting 10 seconds between shots. at some point the lair will start the final spawn. once you clear out that spawn then you can kill the lair off at your ease.
for non-mission wild lairs:
same as above except there is an automatic spawn that will appear about 2 minutes after the first critter is dropped. this will repeat about four times or so dpending on if anyone else or other animals killed any of the critters off. if 5 minutes pass between spawns then there probably arent anymore coming so finish the lair in the same manner as if it was a mission lair.
experience will teach you how far to kill a lair until it spawns and so on.
hope this helps.
oh /aim is your friend at low level...
