I'm goin rifleman which I think is an awesome profession but marksman is set up for pistols mostly it seems. Any advice on a good stat migration to compensate for the mass of mind pool usage without dyin evertime a NPC touches you?

First,I am still grinding to master, so by no means am I an expert, but this has worked for me so far:

As a Rodian , I started with high action/quickness/stamina. My health/strength/constitution were average. My mind/focus/will were on the low side.

Depending on what your goals are for picking up other skills (i.e. medic, entertainer, etc..) will really determine what you want to do.

I dropped my A/Q/S pool several hundred points and boosted my M/F/W pool up with those points. Don't forget to boost focus & will they help regenerate the mind pool. I adjusted my A/Q/S down again, but this time I boosted my H/S/C pool (at the time there was the 2.5x melee dmg vs. prone).

I am still tweaking, but for the most part I have found that I don't need my Action pool nearly as much as the others.

depends on your species but you should migrate as much as possible to focus and willpower and mind - the aim to get high enough that with the buffs available to the mind you can do any shot without draining you mind.

also if not buffed being fully migrated allows a few extra shots before being totally drained ^_^

doc buffs affect the other stats so it is easy to be well over 2500 on all others even at racial minimums your mind stats are the hardest to buff so migrate fully to them if you intend to be a rifleman. You also will want to get mind buff foods, drinks, drugs and musician and dancer buffs!

Migrate what you can to Mind and it's subs. But don't neglect the other pools. One thing to remember is that when you are attacked in PvE you will usually get hit in Action or Health. Also when using specials it drains primarily from Mind but it also does so from Health and Action.

Also as a TKM you will want some in Health/Action and their subs for those specials.

I'm a Rifleman/TKA and have mine fairly even in the primaries. 1000/950/1000. For subs I can't remember for sure but I put most in Mind subs followed by Health with Action subs lower than the others. But only by 50-150 points.

Waste with the buffs regularly available (3000+) on eclipse migrateing all your stats to mind works wonders for rifleman. In PVE when you pools are like 3500,3300,3300, 3500,3300,3300 3200,2800, 2800 (or near that ) using buffs all the time... you can see why I migrated as much as I could to mind... with the entertainer buffs 2x the mind pool + 2 brandy (and a third on occasion ^_^) I can't reach the level of my Health or Action pools - which never seem to move in PvE anyway with the huge buffs *

your method sounds like you would not need buffs to go into PvE. A more balanced approach which means you can go hunting when ever you feel like it. Mine is moreof an all or nothing approach - either buff or don't do it! With TKM I would guess that yes maybe a more balanced approach then the one I suggested may be in order ^_^ Guess I need to read what the person types more!

I just didn't like the idea of migrating all my stats and relying on buffs. So I went for the balanced approach. Both have their up and downs. But with my stats I usually pop two brandies and use Powerboost and my stats are good enough that I can use specials without much of a dent.

It does allow me to hunt whenver I want instead of just when I can get buffs. But I still get buffs for the big stuff.

I don't even need to read the replies to your post to know what everyone is telling you to do.

This is assuming you don't run around with huge Doctor buffs, or do a ton of PvP fighting...

MAX ALL MIND STATS. Period!

Even if you were just a Rifleman, you would rarely use your Health or Action for anything other than sucking up damage in PvE, and your Health and Action secondaries would really only come into play if you wear armor. Meanwhile, every single special you use with your rifle will be eating away at your mind like three different hives of termites infesting a 50 year old woodshed, while keeping you concealed from the mobs you're shooting at, preventing you from needing those Health and Action pools for soaking up damage in the first place.

The fact that you're a Teras Kasi cinches the deal! Max your Mind pool, and max your Mind secondaries, then take whatever points are left, and put them mostly into your Quickness/Action/Health in that order. The higher your Mind pool is, the more Health and Action (and Mind!) you will get from using Power Boost to make up for the low base pools, and the Quickness will help a lot with the Teras Kasi specials if you're not running around with 2000+ point Doctor buffs. Power Boost is awesome for the Mind buff alone when it comes to Rifleman; the Health and Action buffs are just icing on the cake.

Your playstyle may vary greatly from mine, but this is what I would do if I were playing a TKM+MR.

I am a Rifleman / Master Doctor (human) and I put every single point into the Blue pool I think it is 800/1100/1100 if I remember correctly +/- a 100 here and there. I drink 2 brandy's before battle and do a complete buff on myself (its nice to be a doc lol).Yet if you do this sort of stat change you will definately need buffs so make good friends with a doc.

Power boost gives +Half your mind to HAM, so say you have 1100 Mind you'll get +550 to Health Action and Mind, if you had 900 mind you'd get +400 to HAM etc etc, the ability is gained at Advanced Meditative Techniues in TKA
