Thread: question about bowcaster vs t21 and i am wookie

ok i have always been told that the t21 is the schznit weapon for us riflmen. i am still rather novice but my bowcaster does 1400 to 1800 each headshot2 while my t21 may do 1800 or 1900 but often hits in the 500 range also while my bowcaster wont. will i ever use a t21 or just keep using the bowcaster which seems to be better. doesnt the t21 do heavy damage?? still dont see it any help please

dude, your a nov rifleman what are you still doing using your bowcaster?
the no AP is obviously not effective, if your having troubles with dmg, get a spd sliced t21, if not, get a dmg sliced laser rifle with a nice pup...
theres no way the bowcaster can be matching dmg to t21 unless they are vuln to energy...

thats what i would think is pickets they are 20% and i consistantly do much better damage with my bowcaster. think its my wookie-ness or what??

hmm...well...pickets? you should kill quenkers, then sav quenkers and huurton huntresses and huurton stalkers on dantooine

You should be killing whatever you want, don't listen to anyone else.
Personally, It's a matter of preference. The T21 should do more damage in nearly all cases except if the target is vulnerable to energy. You have to remeber that in your combat log you may see this:
You use Master Headshot on a picket for 1200 points of damage (T-21)
You use Master Headshot on a picket for 1200 points of damage (bowcaster)
But the target got:
A picket is hit for 1875 points of damage (T-21)
A picket is hit for 1200 points of damage (bowcaster)
because of the armor peircing. The real damage suffered appears above a targets head, not in your log.
I have a T-21 for around 515 Max, and a bowcaster for about 360 max, but my bowcaster is 3.5 speed and next-to-no HAM costs. It's a toss up on which I'll use (or Id I'll use my DXR or my laser rifle).

I get similar results with my bowcasters. So far I feel like I'm going to stick to this weapon all the way to master, especially because it goes with the wookie image. 
And as far as the differences go, I'm pretty satisfied with the damage the bowcaster does overall. And as mentioned, they often have lower ham costs and a faster fire rate. Include a decent powerup and I'm good to go with my bowcaster. 
I would like to see some possible upgrades, but I guess that's just another wish added to the hundreds of others we got out there. And I would rather see things balanced properly before we get to that anyway.

bowcastor is rubbish lets take the example of a SBD.
85% energy with medium armour.
bowcastor does 1200 using headshot2 take 75% damage off cause the AR2 vs AP0
that does 300 damage now take away another 85% because of its effectiveness
45 damage u will do with a 1200 damage shot to a SBD
now the T21 does 1200 using headshot2 add on 25% the AR2 vs AP3
that now 1500 damage take away thge 85% protection this leaves
225 damage to a SBD
of course i could be wrong but i think that how it all works out.
t21 works a lot better than a bowcastor.
of course at noivce u shouldnt be killing anything with more than light armour on your own anyway and with that high resistance to energy attacks.so keep with what u want but a t21 or laser is a lot better just cause of the AP vs AR bonus.

You are probably looking at your combat log spam. Watch the number that float over the targets head instead. The combat spam doesn't take into account AP vs AR. A T21 does 195% damage vs AR0 while the Bowcaster would do 100%. That's almost twice as much damage.

If you're master rifleman always carry these 3 guns.

If you had an uber t21 then that would replace the other 2 but they come in handy.
