Hello,

I have aquired another account and wanted to go master pistoleer. But its not the type of dam im looking for. So ive been reading on rifleman and it seems like fun. But i see a problem, i do alot of solo grinding and 100% of the mobs run up on you. Now to my understanding rifles arent good at point blank, so it would seem that it would be tough to solo. This char is novice combat medic and i want master, so i dont have the points to spend in Creature Handler for a tank. So how do you guys do it, or does it take forever to grind out master rifleman? I am a fast grinder and i hate to spend more than 1 week grinding something and not being master. Please if you can help me out so i can join the ranks of you Masters.

Thanks

Rifleman will be a headache in the beginning, because you are not good point blank. It will improve. At master, aggro is a moot point, because your target(s) are dead before they reach you.

As far as a tanking creature, by default, a non-CH can handle a LvL 10 pet. Many BEs make "tanking pets". Look around on your server for a BE/vendor.

Solution - get 0100 (Conceal Shot)

It doesn't make anything aggro you (unless you put the rare bleed on it, but it shouldn't be a problem). With conceal shot, you'll be golden.

just do HS2 on quenkers until u get HS3, use that until u get Flushing shot 2, that IMO is the best way to grind it. however, u do have the problem were u cannot tank and are not good when they get up on ur face. i got master rifles in about 5 days doing 1-2 buffs a day in a solo group on dant. all quenkers. well almost 5 days, took a little longer cuz i had to wait on the combat xp. but heh.

if u are looking for a good combo proff to go with CM this is it. i am both atm. Master rifles CM 4414 ( crafting is so slow ) and im loving it. GL

Since you are a Novice combat medic, you also have the ranged support line, use your specials in the ranged support line to keep baddies at bay.

fastest way to get to master rifles and the true power of the T21 is to use grenades to get the combat XP speed line first then go up the accuracy tree then the rest to master.

when you are master killing with a T21 under the current ruleset is VERY easy. simply start at about 60m from the lair strafe2 and everything will normally drop before it reaches you. if anything closes to 20m just kite a bit and then go back to 60m from the lair and apply more firepower. at master you dont need a tank.

normally if something closes with me i switch to the nearest target and apply strafe2 till the threat is expired. during a pinch in my jedi grind i just whip out the T21 and clear the area of enemies. when using a rifle i seldom get hit in direct combat.

Created Account July 2003 - Canceled account Nov 2005. The NGE made me do it.

Rifleman do suffer an accuracy penalty at point blank range, but once you reach master, you're going to be doing so much damage that it's not going to matter. When I was grinding Rifleman, I almost dropped the profession because at the lower levels, to be blunt, it sucks. I stuck it out though, and have never had second thorughts about it since. The grind is long and frustrating, but the end result pays off. I too did not have access to CH pets, so I opted for a high-HAM combat droid. You can find a number of droids that have around 6000 HAM. They might not be the greatest things, but I used one, and it worked fine for me. Just send the droid to tank the lair and use Flushing Shot 2 (once you get it) to blanket the creatures with rifle fire.

If you stick with some of the advice offered here, you should be able to grind it out in a week. Just hunt Quenkers, Huurtons...things like that...and you can easily bang out the template in a week. Oh, and stock up on vasarianbrandy and other mind-enhancing foods (Canape and Ahrisa to be specific)...you're going to need them. Good luck.
