between pistols and rifles rifles hands down. pistols lack hitting power in PVE. carbines are downright painful to level and do terribly damage at master even worse than pistols. commando can come close to rifles in certain situations. but for a ranged PVE rifle is the king.

with pistols your stuck hunting things without armour and less than 9k ham. rifles you can successfully hunt animals up to krayts with the right technique.

yes, it all depends on what you do with it. Rifleman alone won't get you very far.

Rifleman and Doctor will, with the ability to self-buff and cure practically every status ailment, as well as heal yourself to absolute full in a shot. Issue with that is that you have no defenses past Rifleman. But you can heal like a psycho.

Rifleman and Fencer will give you phenomenal defenses, and will afford you extra points into medic, or put a little into medic and grab Master Brawler (Warcry2 for healing, Intim 2 for fun)

Rifleman and Swordsman is like fencer, except with less defenses.

Rifleman and TKA is great, since TKA's get some trumped toughness and meditate to boost your mind pre-fight.

Rifleman and Combat Medic would be damn good, because you could outright mind poison your prey to the brink of insanity, then plug away with HeadShot3 WHILE being able to self-heal for a LOT.



In my experiences, i have been a Rifleman/Doctor + Novice Brawler for well, about 8 months now, or more. This affords me the ability to mass heal myself, intimidate the enemy, warcry1 them if i need a second to regrow my mind, as well as blast them to hell with StrafeShot2.

Oh, and if you can get the mob away from his buddies, use StrafeShot2. It's downright powerful. Insanely Powerful.

But as for soloing, goes, the best solo-er isn't a solo-er. Get a friend with Professions to compliment you. If you're a Rifleman/CM and your friend is a Swordsman/Doc, you guys can drop the roughest prey in the game to death in a VERY short time.

Edit: Oh, i forgot. "Roughest Prey" does NOT include Super Battle Droids.
