Thread: Master pistoler vs Master Rifleman

hey guys currently i am a master pistoler maser tk and some medic
I have relieved rifleman is a great profession by losing to them so many times... How much better is rifleman then pistoler? Is it worth the long grind?

i dont know whether i enjoy it or not, i dont find it a fun profession, but now Solo Groups have been fixxed im glad i spent 2 days in the geonosian caves spamming AoE Attacks

swords/rifles is pretty sweet. if i didnt love TKA meditate so much i would still be swords/rifles.

The grind can be frustrating. You'll find you are doing less damage than you are use to once you factor in speed and accuracy.
However if you have a fair amount of Combat XP banked then you can use it immediately for Rifle Speed which will help immensely.
At Master you'll be about as accurate as you are use to, but you'll be doing significantly more damage.

Pistoleer takes alot more work to make it as good as a rifleman. with +7 in rifle speed tapes and master you can deal some insane damage pve and pvp.

Rifles is a long grind toward the only skill box that makes the whole thing worth while, Master. At the lower levels, shots are slow and accuracy is horrid inside of 40m and notmuch better outside that. We have no melee defences to speak of at master, but on the way up you don't even have ranged defences. Once you master though, you'll know why you spent all that time on it. The day yousolo a rancor lair inunder a minute, without ever letting one of them within 20m of you, you'll know that you have arrived. Just watch that stupid baznitch that's sneaking up behind you... he can really ruin your day if you let him.
If you do plan on trading in your pistol for a rifle, bank as much combat xp as you can before you change over so you can race up the rifle abilities tree, that speed will be a great help to you, not to mention the attacks.You'll also want topick up the ranged support line if you have the skill points available. You'll find /aim, /threaten, & /warn to be great help until you have real skills. /suppress gets mixed reviews, but when it works, it's a wonderful thing.Many of the more agressive players find ranged support to be useless at the higher levels, but if you plan on being fire support for a combat group they still have they're uses at master.Whenyour tankis laying flat on his back & dizzy, he'llappreciate the line of warning fire you draw between him and the critter that was planning on making a snack out of him. If you don't like ranged support, you can always give the skills back.

I was both MPistoleer and MRifleman...
Mpistoleer without BH pistols line is worthless...I bought some Pistol speed CA, droped 4xxx line of Pistoleer, got BH pistol line and smuggler dirty fighting! I owned... with proper food you can beat everything!
MRifleman: I have fun, I realy do... This is for me best prof in game! With proper addon proffesion you re set toeverykind of fight PvE, PvP! I am atm master marksman, master rifleman, commando 4xxx and some TKA! Fast grind believe me!

I was a Master Pistoleer (pure, no pistol hybrid) and had fun but wanted more of a punch, so I went Rifleman.
At this point I'm 3/1/2/2 and am walking on air! I can't wait to Master to see what kinda damage I can do!

They can fire faster than you, they can fire more accurately than you, they can kite better than you, they can hit harder than you. The only thing you can do better is get shot at.

The caveat being that happens at Master. At lower levels it is a different situation.

the grind took me no time. well, this was b4 the solo group nerf and the solo groups were thriving 
. anyway, pistoleer is wayyy more fun if u add in smuggler and BH i have a pretty uber template involving both pistols and rifles but it turns out my character build would give me 14 more sp then i was allowed
