No you don't.you can have Master doc master rifles and novice brawler
I'm not denying that. I'm saying that it is not needed to have any melee skills of anykind to solo a krayt.

ill agree that there might be some players, that with no brawler can solo giants. Like the guy who said it took him a year to learn how to do it.
For the average RM, even speed capped, with Doc or Cm, its not easy. I never even try it.
It MUCH easier useing a tank. Go with a Master Fencer - he wont do any damage, but he will keep them away from you.
Be aware though , that eventualy even a MF/MP WILL get KD, and then the giant will come running after you like a bat out of hell, so be carefull.
Juvies are easily soloed, as it has been stated.

i can solo a canyon or juvi, not giant or ancient, but soloing a canyon takes me like 30 - 45 mins due to the fact that a: my krayt rifle didnt have fantastic krayt tissues - b: it got a speed slice, c: its point blank not at a good range.
I can keep myself alive by healing, as im a 3340 medic using stimpack D with BE clothing adding up to +43 Injury Treatment. ALso, they dont KD so it aint that hard

speed capping is a must. im master fencer, master rifleman, 4/4/4/0 medic. i can solo juvies and canyons and giant canyons no prob. doesn't take me too many heals (10-20 or so), just warcry and intimidate and kite them. sometimes they will walk slow for some reason and you can keep a good distance between you two. oh and i just use my grinding t21 (370 max damage LOL, working on getting me a real nice one)

Speaking from experience: Its definately possible, but much easier with swordsman.... or a Commando/melee template.

i haven't noticed much diff as far as melee defense and state defenses for pve as there is for pvp. mitigation is nice though. could still do it without fencer, was just telling my temp if anyone was interested.
