She then at a low lvl proceeded to kick my ass to demonstrate. I have heard that a rifleman is the king of PvP. What weapons/skills/tactics can I use to defeat a Melee class in PvP? I want to enter round 2 prepared if possible.

Rifleman can be very dangerous, but alone isn't the king of PVP. Until publish 8 though we will probably be nerfed to oblivion.

use your status effects of stun and dizzy to lessen her damage and pick a weapon she is vulnerable to. jawa is the general weapon of choice. dont stand right next to her. once a TK gets inside 20 meters your dead period. get some chef food that protects from dizzy it works real well.

personally i prefer a T21 over jawa and just keep up the HS3. (or will once i am back to master

get urself some good kinetic armour and a PSG it can practically make you immune to TK attacks and let you live long enough to shake off a dizzy/kd combo if it gets past the chef food.

It pretty much goes like this, Rifle is goodat pvp IF you are completely prepared for it. IE, u have 2 brandy, maybe a muon, u need steak, kd food, i like to carry 3 weapons (jawa, t21, and dxr), and plenty of 33% dmg powerupsand maybe some other foods and things ready depending on ur other profs (maybe some stims, pixie, flame food, vagnerian or whatever it is, rng defense drink, would also suggest buying 2 aukuan rings). Besides that u need experience and good tactics, and a lil luck.

I've been a rifleman since day one on the game...in PVP are damage varies largely due to what we are hitting. Power hammers do more damage on a regular basis, but the reason we appear to be overly powerful is because of our ability to fire nonstop up to 64 range. The power-hammer of course is melee so that great damage has it's draw backs. The damage aspect comes of course from if our enemy is buffed or not. For the most part people do not buff ALL 9 stats since most entertainers have been AFK etc. Makes for getting mind increases difficult. And of course even food has its limits since all it does is increase your mind stats and not necessary give you the ability to repeated heal it.

I'm constantly pvping, as it's all that really keeps me interested (even that is wearing thin). Cover and sneak are pretty much useless in PVP since no one is ever stationary long enough to make use of them. Cover would be fine IF the enemy couldn't simply tab tag me. That's the over all problem and this encompasses ALL professions. TKA's can't really use their "martial powers of stealth and speed" as one would consider. It's more like a frantic charge since your opponent simply tab tags the big red dot engaging. Likewise riflemen find themselves in a pinch since our Cover skill not allowing them to remain "in cover" avoiding fire. All a person does is see the poor fool using cover, run up and bash him to death.

If anything gets changed, the HUD/Target system is foremost I think. You'd finally have distinguishing classes and the ability to use your talents effectively. Riflemen especially (if they ever decide we're gunners or snipers first).

Spraystick has faster attack and lower mind cost, right?

So, if you used a T21 or laser rifle wirth high damage mods to inflict a bleed, then changed to spraystick with damage mods and spammed mind shot, you could probably kill your target very quickly?

Just speculation.

Spray stick has no aromor piercing, if memory serves. Light AP at best and the T21 tank has heavy armor peircing.
