This profession has been with me since i first picked up a cdef rifle away back in my early days and i have been a master rifleman since during my first year until now.

To all the ladies and gentlemen who have been riflemen and womenthis profession will be missed by us all and i will go out killing with my T21 until the change occurs.

It was a good long hard grind folks./brandishFarewell ol Rifle Buddies. We were a powerful combination ol T-21. Well we will be outmatched be a Jedi sometimes but Oh well

It cant be is it over? NO! They continue to ddestroy the game. It sadly almost isnt worth playing. But, strangely i continue hoping for a new generation of players. Sadly, i dont think this will come, yet i play on. Until the End.

Wow this is kind of emotional reading through your posts. It helps me recall my most cherished moments that have taken place in this game - too many to list here, so I'll keep it brief. I'm somewhat of a lurker on the forums but have been playing SWG since beta. At launch I started with unarmed, trying to be "different", but got sick of running after everything so picked up a CDEF rifle and that's where it all started. I've been through Mrifle/MCM/Dancer (just enough to do the robot dance), Mrifle/MCH, and Mrifle/MBH. I met a wonderful person on Chilastra, Trevor Snowden, who basically became my mentor early on and I was his "little buddy" (my character is modeled after a young man). In time, Trevor became a great solo artist - Master Rifleman / Master Creature Handler. We would go out hunting "force sensitives" on Dantooine with his 2 Graul Maulers spamming Headshot 2 with our T-21 rifles (his had the handle on the tip, mine didn't). The time he brought me to Jabba's Palace was the absolute best SWG experience. I turned the graphics all the way up and took many screenshots. We saw banthas, dewbacks and tusken raiders. He tamed a dewback for me and said, "one day, I'll train one of these dewbacks as a mount for you" when there was talk about mounts in the future. I still remember all the details, like the fact that it was about 4:30 AM.

/salute to Trevor Snowden and the rest of you fellow Riflemen and women!

I still remember getting my first and only T21. I was still new and saw it in my new guildmate's vendor, and the 303 DPS was unheard of to me at the time. He told me "Once you hit level 54 that rifle is yours, no charge." I still have it and I plan to use it all throughout my escapades as a Spy, and I'm never taking down my Master Rifleman tag.

Thanks for all your hard work, Ack. I, too, am shocked and appalled by what is happening. One of the greatest MMORPGs is getting ready to flush everything that made it different or special just so a bunch of f**king 12-year-olds can be Playstation Jedi. And like you, I am embarassed to say, I had paid in advance for a year in August, so I'll have to stick around and watch to see what happens.

Perhaps it won't be as bad as I think, but the initial reports I've had from friends on TC are very, very not good.

I am such a casual player that it took a me one whole year to master rifles under the pre-CU (I did not use AFK macros to do it, obviously. Now, I see nothing wrong with macros, since everyone else uses them, it seems). I loved being a master rifleman under the first combat system, and the CU wasn't all that bad once I got used to it. I was looking forward to a /target fix for conceal and then, hopefully, a massive nerf for Jedi to restore some balance to the game.

You can tell I was incredibly naive, if not downright stupid. There was never any intent to placate the veteran players who have sunk hundreds of dollars into this game and stuck through all the changes, hoping problems would be fixed and real "enhancements" would come.

SOE is going after fickle teenagers who will toss the new and improved SWG aside like a cheap hooker after a year or less of playing. They also will have lost many loyal longtime customers.

I hope every one of them gets fired after this business strategy fails miserably.

I will miss being the official sniper of the group and the firepower I could bring to the battlefield for my team. From busting turrets to 70M Concussion Shots on hapless players. There is no feeling like /prone /cover /concealshot against a CL85 Elite and winning without ever getting hit. The only semi positive about this whole thing is that now I will be able to use my Nullifier X without guilt and without worrying about it not being the best rifle on the field. (Hopefully) our 'Sniper" tags will always remind people of our once noble profession.

It is a sorry situation that the weapon specialists are going away and being integrated into other professions but we shall have to see how things end up. I have not had a lot of time to play around with anything as yet.

Have a good one guys and best of luck in whatever you end up in
