Thread: Best things about Riflemen!!!!!
On a semi-related note, it occurs to me that the best Species for Doctor are suddenly also the best Species for Rifleman now, too. My friend plays a Mon Calamari Combat Medic/Rifleman. His Mind Pool is through the roof and his secondaries are STACKED. He also knows better than to wear a helmet. As a result he has far fewer Mind Drain problems, though his Health and Action are nothing to write home about. On the other hand, He's a Combat Medic, he can heal those up quickly.
I was fortunate enough to pick Zabrack myself, so while my Focus is only 500, my Willpower is a staggering 900 (still over 800 with decent Armor, no Helmet). It's about the only thing that keeps me going in this game. I also can save my Equalibrium for a last ditch Mind boost. . . not an hour goes by I don't have to "blow Equal" to get away from a MOB alive.
I'm a Transdoshan TKA/Rifleman. I picked Transdoshan for the racial unarmed mods and melee defense bonus. My original ideafor this race and skills combo was defense (64 melee and 54 ranged--assuming they stack regardless of what weapon is wielded, no other single or hybred combat professions even comes close to this if I'm not mistaken). Of course, Inow realize that either defensivemods are so weak that they are useless or they are just flat-out broken; so if I had it to do over again, I probably wouldpick another race.Transdoshans' secondary mind stats are not really condusive to any heavy mind usage. I definately would not use a Transdoshan as a straight-up Rifleman or medic.
Even so, I am sticking with this guy in the hope that they fix defense.My1000/950/850 HAMisok formy playstyle, which is to basically use my rifle to pull. For instance, Ioften use suppression fire on a couple of mobs and thenletmy intended victim(s) chase me out ofaggro ranged of the'suppressed' ones; then I drop the rifle, go beserk and equip my VKsfor some quick kills--it's a pretty effective and fun PvE strategy. TKA is my PvE bread-and-butter. Except for when I am concentraing on raising my rifle skills, suppresion fire is basically theonly ranged special I use, saving my mind for stim-packs.
As far as PvP goes, if they fix defensive mods this may be a rather effective combo with TKA as the main attack. The high defense may make it easier for me to closeground on ranged foes so I can get in a KD and do some damage. As in PvE, riflewill be basically my backup PvP skill. Ican't be kited as other meleers are (the pistoleerstarts running and I pull out my trusty 'longstick') and when sniping I don't have to worry about the rifleman's 2.5X melee damagepenalty (if they close in on me I just switch to VKs). However, this is just conjecture as I haven't engaged in PvP as of yet.
Butif this turns out to be some kind of killer defensive template (which I sincerely doubt), the devs will just end up nerfing the defense of both riflemen and TKAs to prevent anyone from taking advantage of this hybred. ![]()
Meditate doesn't do squat for regeneration. Meditate does:
Reduces DoT damage and duration.
Heals wounds(only at master.)
That's it.
"We can incap ourselves faster than any other class!"
lol. swordsman and i think carbine can do it way faster =)... i mean wayyyy
(yes even at master rifleman with T21 and headshot3)...
Webuild huge calf muscles through running our asses
off after a mind2 and mind1 stack then returning to
finish em up with headshots...heheheh

My favorite thing is waking up in a cloning booth after attacking a Kimo on Lok with my trustyT21.
