Somewhat off topic, but hey, welcome to my world...I hear Best Buy's preorders are shipping as late as march...hopefully EB won't do that, as I and several of my friends ordered from them.
I have heard from several different marksmen that prone doesn't work for any of the gun types...lovely!

i've suffered this problem as well.
in addition, if i have been 'spamming' specials, on occasion i stop auto-firing all together. it makes no difference if i am standing, kneeling or prone. it is FAR more frequent when prone, but as i said, it has happened to me in all the firing positions.
I've had this happen alot, more often then not when I am targetting a lair and spamming Strafeshot2 - one of the critters in the line of fire will die and then I'll stop firing altogether. Only way I have found to start firing again is to peace out of combat entirely, and then start up again - typically getting hit a few times by the critters in the process.
I'm always standing when this happens, kinda hard to use SL specials when prone, so I can't comment on the frequency of prone vs standing or kneeling.

I've tried peacing out, it doesn't work. And I am not doing any specials, just attack. I am within range, and it bugs me ^ ^ (little joke)

Yea I have noticed this lately.
Ihaven't analyzed it too much but what I noticed was whenI went prone and hit the attack button, it would delay for a long time ... way too long.

No feedback yet for me - although I'm finding that my chances of firing prone are getting better.
Sometimes if I start off by not using specials it will work, most often not. I've found neither rhyme nor reason in why it works sometimes and not others - although given how rare standard fire works while prone, I'm wondering if server boundaries play any role in it. (i.e. you can fire over boundaries, but not while in bounds).
OR, maybe the dead chicken I wave around is helping. :>

Pretty sure someone mentioned this before, but I'll chime in as well...
I am 100% certain this happened when the JTL code was enabled, but before it was released. IIRC, that was around 10/27.
I think it has to do w/ the new 3d coorinate systems, which were enabled at that time.
My simple guess? /prone attacks will work if your z-plane coordinate and your target's are identical (or nearly so). My (admittedly non-scientific) observation is that sometimes /prone regular attacks work when target and I are both in a level area. If it's hilly, fagetabahtit.
Going on two weeks with this bug.

That makes a lot more sense. Damn I'm just like Khan in the Nebula - my 2 dimensional thinking will be the end of me!! :>
The times firing has worked for me prone is when the terrain is pretty level and both the opponent and I are at the same level. Gotta test that out later today.

I thought this was just me - I have noticed that this - as other posters have said - is not just while prone. I can have a lair targetted, and hit either attack or a special and sometimes NOTHING happens, I switch to critters, bingo - down they go, back to the lair, zero from my T21 - peaced out - then attacked it finally starts going bye bye.
Something weird is definitely going on.
Next time it happens I'll /bug it.

I am a Master RIfleman and have not noticed this yet. However I have a goof friend who is also Master Rifleman and he had problems attacking when prone all the time lately.
Lets get some love on this issue!

Wouldn't it be cool if in fixing this (it could happen...thay MIGHT fix it) they also ended up fixing the silly things like when you look at a person who is taller than you, you actually look up...or if you happen to do that nifty new emote for kissing you kiss their face instead of their chest.
I know...wishful thinking.
