You should have used your spraystick. The 45.2 speed on that cheap T21 will ruin a hunt every time. And those ring-tailed snipes are fast little sons of biitches.
Besides, snipe hunting is about bringing them back live... err...for the Creature Handlers...yeah...for the CHs.
*Hands Hunter an "official" snipe bag*
You need to stand in the clearing while the rest of us go out into the woods (where, coincidentally and nothing to be concerned about, you will not be able to see us). When you are all set, we willchase them in towards you.
You need to standin the clearing holding the bag opendoing a snipe call. It goes, "Koooie...Koooie." When they come running into the clearing, you bag them. It is easy.
Send us a tell when you get in the clearing and are doing the snipe call. We will be in the woods waiting.
*pokes Wayne who is in the corner snickering*
*trusts sotaudi because of a muon downer that has fried all mental pathways*
koooie.... koooie.....

*extreme guilt starts to overcome Sotaudi but Wayne and DV wrestle him down before he can say anything*

After more than 15 minutes of fighting (he was at half when I showed up), the giant beast fell into the desert sands.
I got a whopping 17 points of pistol xp for the effort - which might have angered me considering my damage output was the best it's ever been on this character, except for one minor detail...
THAT WAS THE MOST FUN I HAVE EVER HAD IN THIS GAME!
It was just awesome. When everything was over I had to go outside and smoke a cigarette. It was that d@mn cool.
Anyway, just thought I'd share. =)
*Sotaudi looks back through his old posts to edit out comments about going to Pistol IV to deal with the 2.5x melee damage modifier while leveling, then hopes no one notices his current template in his signature and says:*
Thanks for the encouragement. =)
I must say that I've done pistols (another character) and carbines (yet another character) but never the upper Tiers of Rifles! (Well - not since Beta anyway. ;-)
I think I'm here to stay. Rifle combat ROCKS and I'm only in the Marksman tree! I can take on things I'd never DREAM of attacking with my pistol user!
In my *defense* however - you have to grind Pistol if you want those little extra perks at Mater Marksman. ;-)

Excellent story, BK777!
When i mentally picture the Rifleman's Hall, I picture a large, lodge-like structure with a huge room dimly lit bya huge fireplace and bunches of big comfortable chairs. In the chairs sit all manner of riflemen, each one with their favorite weapon across their lap and their favorite drink in their hand, swapping stories and jokes. I could see all of us gathered around your chair for that story!
My thoughts exactly, of course I would have to add:Wayne dancing in corner by the fireplace while Onichi rummages through all the cabinets trying to find his hair conditioner...
