If I had to guess, I'd say Commando is the most expensive ranged profession. There is little demand for their weapons which helps keep their price relatively high. Also a large amount of their weapons are disposables.

Armor and buffs are pretty constant thru all the professions so that shouldn't be to much of a factor as they will cancel each other out.

Unfortunately really true... worse yet is that with the disposable weapons you generally have to special order them and as they go away after 30 or so uses they are insanely expensive T_T. Master Weaponsmiths don't like stocking them as they take rare materials and they take multiple factory runs... rocket launchers take 3 or is it 4 seperate factorie runs to make...

Huh? What am I missing here? Why does everyone have such a hard time with HAM costs? I'm confused...

I'm working rifleman right now, have MM, Rifleman 2/1/0/2 and enough to get either counter-sniping I, or concealment II, or wait for sniping III. I use a T21, and all I have to do is drink brandy, and I can spam head shot 3 or conceal shot all day long and never, I mean ever, run out of HAM.

Now maybe I'm playing inneficiently, but since I don't do PvP I figure it this way. Rifleman is supposed to be a long range sniper class. Therefore, you endeavor to take out your enemies without ever being aggrod. Therefore, you adjust your stats so your secondaries are maxed, since primaries are of less importance if you don't lose from specials and you're not taking damage (well, for me anyways since I'm a wookiee and our secondaries are capped low). Then adjust Primaries however you feel works best for you. If you need/want to fight highend stuff, get a good set of armor, get master doc buffed, get entertainer buffed, and stack brandy doses as much as you can. I just did this to go out to the warren solo and had a blast. Master entertainer buff and 2 shots of brandy put me up at 1400+ on all the mind stats, spamming specials on my T21 (mediocre so I'm told at just over 500 max dmg after slice).

Now I realize that I'm not speed capped, so I'm shooting slower, but it would seem to me that if I don't lose HAM spamming specials with only 1 dose of brandy and no ent. buff at 55 speed, 2 doses of brandy and maybe ent. buff (maybe even just 2 doses of brandy) would make it the same at 100 speed. Where's the need for all the other food, and ham reduc powerups, etc. etc.??

Your a human right? with all your ham migrated to focus?

This is where Weaponsmith/Rifleman comes in handy

I recently finished up my 2nd Rifleman grind last night, (Managed to get 1.5mil xp in one buff on Dantooine)

It helps having about 8 rifles in your inventory (I only used 3-4 of them mainly throughout my grind)

Speed sliced laser
Dmg sliced spraystick
Dmg sliced Krayt Dxr6
Speed sliced T21 (4.5, 3.0 w/ powerup)
Speed sliced Stocked T21 (4.9, 3.4 w/ powerup)

Also the Brandy+Ahrisa helped a lot, and the 20 or more crates of 33speed/16min dmg powerups.

Seething Bols, Picket Longhorns and Voritors seemed to be my favorite this time. Almost all of my grinding was done on Endor previously, the change of scenery was nice.

Now... To make my Krayt T21 and pray for a dmg slice.. Until then I'll use this for my pvp

Ackehece is right, Commando gets expensive if you like to use heavy weapons exclusively (launchers and grenades), I constantly bugged my local weaponsmith when I was a commando for some C22's, Thermal detonators and rocket launchers unfortunately he was rarely in the mood to run them. I log on my guildie's new weaponsmith account and made a few rocket launchers and needless I say- they're damn expensive to make, they take 5 proton grenades, 8 feed mechanism, and 2 weaponscopes all from crates.

Still I say in a general way, pistoleer is the most expensive ranged profession in order to keep up with the DPS competition.

I was lucky, my main expenses on Rifleman were 'luxury' items, namely a pre-nerf T21(10 million) and another at 1.3 million. The rest of my Rifles are either made by me, or from another guild member. Even the various loot components used in them were from guild members. My Rifle speed and accuracy tapes? Given to me by a guild member. Don't really pay attention to how much food I use. The only other cost is buying sliced armor for PvE. I'm more than happy to lay down the credits when its a nice ~40% enc sliced helmet, but even that will change when my guild armorsmith gets up and running.

Oh, it gets worse.

I just spent 2 million a few days ago on a gun...and I almost didn't buy it, not because it was too pricey but because there are even better guns out there that are much more expensive, but they're hard to find.

Then with PvP you need armor, which is very expensive for the good stuff. PSG's, powerups, stims, etc all cost a fair bit too, but nothing near the other stuff.
