Thread: why did they screw with the damage!!
So with the T21's working correctly now (at least in part), how do things look for rifleman vs. bounty hunters? RIght now I plan to keep some medic skills (First Aid IV and Pharm IV, and I'll buy good stim Cs), and currently am one box into BH and one box into Rifleman. I'm down to 2 skill points left so I need to start dropping everything I"m not going to use.
So I guess fighting against each other it would be pretty close. A BH can more easily use KD and won't be using up mind to fire specials, while a rifleman is slowly killing his ownmind and has to stay long range.
"That's why I'm worried Krupskaya. I have a feeling once new T21s become widespread with+30% damage slices and +30% max damage powerups people are going to start screaming nerf. "
I know for a fact someone is going to scream NERF! From looking at most threads in the Gen Discussion board it looks like at least 1 in 5 threads are nerf this or nerf that threads. They should get it to a point and then say "No more nerfs" This is the way it is and isnt changing. Since this game is basically a paid beta Im sure there are lots more nerfs coming.

"Towards method 1 & 3:
To sum, he basically suggested hitting them with bleed and running around hoping they dont catch you. How terribly creative."
Hehe. The thing is though, it works. I just did it again last night at the Imp Oasis near Espa on my server. Had 7 people chasing me, one was left at the end.And he went incap right after he got me, from a mind bleed. (Hi Wolve!)
I'm not saying they won't catch you. They WILLhit you. You MUST have stimpacks to heal yourself. And eventually you will run out of mind if there are just too many of them. But I think you can agree that if I didn't lose against 7 people, I need to be nerfed.
"Towards method 2:
Flurry/Supression rocks, on PCs and NPCs alike. Problem? It only works if you are trying to take one person out. And I mean ONLY 1. Another person shows and you get a free trip to back to the cloning center. Because its general impossbile to keep more than one person locked down at a time with this combo."
I often use this on more than one person. The combo is flurry/supression/FLURRY. The second one dizzies them again once they're on the ground. When they get up they will fall again. That's 20+ seconds on the ground. Also, knocking them down and then bleeding them will have them scared as hell and running for cover once they do get up and are near incap.
"Suggesting that you heal yourself is nice, but of course that requires that you have medic. And does nothing to adress the fact that rifle specials use mind points."
This is the gotcha. You MUST have medic, or yes, you are screwed. You need that 5 points of medicine use to use the Stim Bs, otherwise you're stuck healing for 40 or 70 damage instead of 400. As for the mind points, make sure you have good mind stats. Your sub stats must both be above 600.
"And as for the big mind shots, my T21 using headshot2 gets up to 400 damage now, assuming it hits, and only does that every 10 or so seconds. And if you are moving and trying to hit with most any rifle but a spraystick I wish you luck, cause you will need it."
The spraystick does not have the awful range mods of most rifles. I hit at least 75% of the time on the run, at close range. With the rifle, I simply stop when I'm just about to fire, and then run again. It takes practice, but it's not too bad.
"Just trying to put things in perspective."
Thanks for the comments. You should give it a try though.
Good posts, taco.
And besides, nobody should be upset if a strategy "doesn't work against multiple opponets". Yeah, when it's 3v1 we'll get our butts kicked! Well duh. If that's not true for all classes then someone needs a serious nerf.
The only thing to watch out with mind shots is it can damage you more than your opponet these days. Especially with a spraystick. Putting on a mind bleed, maybe doing one or two mind shots and then switching to regular shots is a reasonable call, especially if you're a medic -- healing your health and action will further reduce your own mind.
That's why I'm worried Krupskaya. I have a feeling once new T21s become widespread with+30% damage slices and +30% max damage powerups people are going to start screaming nerf.
They won't bother looking at the insane amount of mind a T21 uses and the fact we have the worst defence of a combat class in the game(with the exception of commando, don'tknow what the devs are doing there), they will just see that 700 damage hit andgo spam the dev board.
Here's what you do then:
dizzy, posture down twice (so they're laying down)
Then move right up on them.
Now they can't do anything unless they get up (you get that message that you can't attack from this position with an enemy so close)
