Thread: We need to strive for BALANCE
Listen, there has to be something seriously wrong with your **edit**ed up head if you think riflemen are at all as powerful as any other combat class. We don't hit a single target for as much as any other class, we have drawbacks that no other class has, we don't have any bonus that no other class doesn't have, we cannot solo (and by that mean use the services of another person) any significantly powerful mob, and the things we are supposed to do well, other classes do better, with no drawbacks. The dev team hates rifle because we draw time away from the artists sketches of the animations for dual pistol use or the neat-o flamethrower animations or the thumpity-thump that huge mobs make when my master basket weaver friend kills it with his 4 grauls and his lightning weapon (just so you know lightning is hotter then the surface of the sun.) Soon rifle won't have any use.
Right now our coolio trick is to hit several targets at once, which i like, but unless i'm in a group, i die to melee 1.28867895694 seconds after i fire.
Tenzing Norgay - sniper til something better comes along

The key word here is single target. Calculate our damage for 3-5 targets on average.

I solo kimogilas all the time, with no pets. I only get killed when they warp. I would solo krayts but the warping bug is too much of a liability.
Advantages and disadvantages is part of MMORPG's???? I can accept that fully. But where's the disadvantage to being a commando now? Where's the BH eyeshot disadvantage? Everyone wants to argue that these classes are harder to acheive. Let me tell you they aren't. They are as easy as pulling the lever on your toliet. Especially for all the folks that got their unarmed in pre-nerf.
Once you hit novice commando you are a damage dealing SOB. Sure you will miss some. But go to Fort Tuskan with a novice commando and go with a novice rifleman... for that matter, go to Fort Tuskan with a novice commando and a master rifleman. See who gets the most XP off the kills. A novice commando can reach master three or four times faster than a rifleman.
Furthermore, I could master 2-handed and master rifleman and master marksman and still not have the fire power of a commando or BH, who by the way just used 43 less skill points than me. O yeah, I almost forgot... he won't get incapped or slain by an unarmed warping Tuskan in one shot.
