i don't know, Rifleman has been a STRUGGLE for me personally. I have fun against NPCs, ie. imp missions, but the grinding and fighting animals is terrible. with no melee defense, i get my arse whipped, yeah even buffed. When i see my best friend lay waste to Ancient Rancors with his powerhammer in less than a minute, it's just depressing.
but the grenade trick works. i just need 120k more xp
If you have fun vs NPC's that is what you should be after. Don't grind for the sake of grinding. Have fun while you do it. Many people here have leveled to master just doing factional NPC's or Nym's(bad idea since Nym camps his starport ^_^ ) corsairs etc. Lok is probably the best planet for hunting NPC's at a non master level - they die quick to your weapons, no one is immune and they give decent experience (and loot). It takes time so patience is a virtue.
helpful hints:
- speed sliced weapons T-21
- speed powerups
- loot enhanced always help
- musician and dance buffs are a must (they help more then most people know)
as a rifleman you have ranged mitgations and ranged defence so it is a good idea to hunt at range - you can grind with the PBA method but you can have more fun sniping and blasting away with flushing etc on ranged targets. you get hit less, take less bf and your armor is not trashed

Well, I just found my new hangout today. It's all NPCs and they hardly ever come in to melee.... THE SENNEX CAVE!!! The guys further in towards the bottom give me 4900xp!!! And the respawn times are pretty darn quick if you loot them! I'll be spending an entire buff session there as soon as i have the time! i only spent about 50min there tonight and got about 200k xp. When i started running out from the bottom, they all respawned, so with about 2 minutes left on buff, i was standing near the door, looking out into the first big room, which was full of probably 12 NPCs all shooting at me. I used /flush2 and wiped'em all out! it was awesome. I won't be complaining anymore!!
