I kill AT-ST's by using /takecover and concealshot. I have never been killed by one using this method(as long as they haven't already agro you). I also tried to use this on turrets...I died, it doesn't work on turrets.

After laying prone, through the normal manner, use take cover. If you are succesful, the next few shots will not attract the target mob, and its friends, attention. In fact, you can fire off two shots, stand up, and then peace. So long as you arent too slow, this will stop the combat, even though your target has taken damage.

The same thing happens if prone and not covered.

I use take cover all the time. The "tumbling" state is temporary and only happens when you take cover from a standing (and/or maybe a crouched position). I have successfully whipped up on several NPCs at different missions under cover with head shot before any of them notice where I am and head for me. If not for take cover I would have been toast on the Aldeeran 3 mission (my friend laughed when the Imps walked past me toward the factory and then I would shot them from behind). Its TOTALLY useless in PVP.

/takecover definitely adds to your defence against ranged - has been test extensively... i have 50% more misses at range against me when using it

as for helping conceal shot. it does not seem to have an affect

as for specials... all specials can be currently used when using takecover (are they supposed to be limited) surpise shot seems to do more damge when under takecover as well.. but i prefered aoe more so have not test that hypothise as much

yes, takecover improves your ranged defenses, yes takecover makes npc/critters take longer to notice you, yes takecover combined with concealshot can destroy anything (you have to be high level to get the full benefit, and apparently doesnt work on turrets). I also can hop myself up on drugs and chef buffs and shoot concealshot non-stop for 10 minutes from cover and take down an AT ST without them aggro'ing. Not too beneficial unless you have lots of time and "need" to destroy and AT ST (side note, they are only worth like 15 faction points...).

At lower levels if you find conceal shot to miss and cause you to get aggro'd, aim before each one and peace after one or two in a row. I don't think you have to break cover to peace, and this resets thecounter on missedconcealshots causing you to get aggro'd.

takecover is great. Like the previous posts state you can basically take out just about anything using it and concealshot. Its fun heading into bunkers and being 9m from an enemy and getting no aggro. Concealshot doesnt work at 8m.I have used it to take out AT-ST's no problem. Takecover is basically camoflouge. Some enimies have a high alertness and wil see thru it but they are few and far bewteen. Only ones i ever have problems with at Tusken carnage champions and some high level nightsisters. This makes it possible to be unbuffed and take out red cons all day long at least while you are soloing. Just drink some BE brandy and accaragam and u r set.

I use cover on a regular basis. Between that, master ranger camo, and skill tapes, I am rarely spotted by mobs when using conceal shot. Usually, the only spot me when I miss my target one too many times. I'm a patient hunter, so I take my time and aim every conceal shot. Other than the super dangerous targets, it's never failed me. PvP is an other story, however. It's absolutely worthless in that context.
