What is the point in singel pulling?
Our highest damage attacks are AE anyway. With the same time, mind, and weapon decay you could have killed all 6 MOBs instead of the one.
Single pulling by applying a bleed and running 80 meters away worked pretty well last time I checked, so why would we need a new ability to do this, when every single class with a bleed shot can do this anyway?
And note it is a CHANCE. No group will rely on a chance to be overrun by all MOBs, and if you now hunt things that are way too high level for you because you rely on fighting them one-on-one, you'd better fight in underwear.
I fail to see a good job. I see effort wasted for something useless while they should have fixed our rifle damage types instead. This woul dnot have taken longer than implementing a new ability, I'm pretty sure of this.
i agree completely i couldnt come up with a circumstance that it would have been useful. i tried using it on a group of three slimy jedi NPC last nite from 64 meters and all three decided i should be killed for my efforts. after seeing a few of the really cool force graphic animations and recovering from incap i sent my gurreck after em. one fought the gurreck the others came after me... so after getting up from yet another dirt nap i heal up my gurreck and just conceal shot 2 of em and sic the gurreck on the last and he takes it out solo without me shooting the jedi or healing the cat.
need to try groups of animals tonite before i decide what skills i need to best solo. against groups of NPC soloing with pets is worthless.
here is where i see this shot being useful. novice rifleman... maybe 2/0/1/1. a group of bantha(or whatever he happens to be hunting for his level i'm assuming a mob with around 6-8k ham) now this novice rifleman can either concealshot one and have it take a month of sundays (ok it's not that bad) and hit random pools for average damage.... OR they can hit mindshot 1, mindshot 2, headshot2 and continue with the headshots as the thing runs towards him. BUT prepatch the rest of the bantha would have run at him as well, assured death, now he only has that one bantha to deal with and could probably put his mind down before he got trampled.
consider also lower ham mobs. a pack of say... 3-4kham dbing mobs. a lucky headshot might do one in, but at the risk of aggroing the entire pack? yeah, you could concealshot them two or three or four times, but personally i'd rather hit one pool. of course this also depends on how well the skill works.
also he can warningshot or use any of the other marksman attacks with a chance that the group won't aggro.
surpriseshot isn't AE either, even though it sucks. maybe that'll change someday.
now if they remove concealshot completely i'd say "bad job" but i haven't read anything, anywhere, that says they are going to do that. this new feature we got was the catalyst for the concealshot rumors i thought. but otherwise there are some uses for it, and if it might help the novice rifleman then it's a good thing.
i'm assuming of course you hit a mob, concealment chance roll succeeds and now you can hit it with whatever you want. if it rolls on every shot it'd be a different story.
This new concealment is awsome. I once was Master CH/Rifleman, but dropped CH all together. This patch day I dreaded hunting solo, but my fears werent justified.
Some examples...
Doing Imperial missions hunting down those infamous surface marshalls. I setup position 60m away from npcs, ONLY in prone, and i canHS3 the rebels to death 1 at a time, not even the one i am shooting sees me most of the time, from the 20 or so missions I did, never got any group agro, and the NPC i was shooting agroed (returned fire) about 5% of the time.
Same deal at the Tuskan fort, I could stay prone and just pick off anythingI wanted too with HS3.
