Thread: Anyone else feels that the new powerup decay is too much?

Well I guess seeing as it's slightly vaguely related - even if the cross server economics makes it by and large a moot question ... what are you paying for your weapons? What would you deem fair? What weapons are you buying?

Kershakk my post was not meant as a dig at weaponsmiths, I've seen quite a lot of them say this decay is OTT.Some of them say the only reason they continue to make weapons is they enjoy trying to make better weapons than / keep up with the other weaponsmiths.

I think the reason there are poor weaponsmiths is because the amount of weapons purchased is unevenly split betweenthe master weaponsmiths. One weaponsmith on my server makes 500k a day, this is one who doesn't even charge a lot for her weapons. However I'm sure there are plenty out there that are struggle to break even.

I know when I buy a weapon I check with my guildmate or visit the 2 shops that have been going since early on in the servers life. I'm sure there are many other players that do this, and so the newer master weaponsmiths find it hard to get visiters.

My point from the other post was that I feel I was buying enough new weapons without this latest change in decay. I've probley spent over 500k on new weapons in the last couple of months, this is without even buying krayt weapons.

/agree.

The cost of powerups should be enough. The weapons deteriorate at a proper rate before this nerf.

Oh I totally back you on that one, mate. The devs seem to fail to realise what a money sink should be. They think by making people spend more money that's a money sink.

Incorrect. That just moves money around.

A true money sink would be something that takes money *out* of the economy. They should have NPCs sell stuff that are NOT player craftable but highly cool. Rugs. A bar. A fridge. Maybe make speeders non player crafted and strictly NPC sold. Charge a hefty sum, make them potentially break in combat. Maybe make the big starships really expensive when they come out. They'd take money out.

What they're doing is a time sink. Seeing as oh, when you get incapped they'd like to have us believe that the NPC responsible cycles through every item on us and bang it against the floor. I am not thinking "Hey, this means more money for me!" - I am thinking, "Hrm, guess I better try reduce my prices" because in all good conscience Ihave to re-evaluate what Icharge for weapons that are decaying faster than a chocolate kettle. This wastes your time as you have to constantly replace your items even further, and takes the value out of my time as the weapons aren't any easier to make than before - they just break if the wind changes.

Personally I think if they just did the corpses right, it's enough penalty to have to go out to wherever it is you died and loot it.

After all the only reason we're probably not totally in an uproar right now over things like warping or insta-spawn-in-your-facemobs is that there is very little penalty to it aside from the annoyance of maybe wounds and time loss which are nuisances as is. They should fix these issues before making any death penalty of any kind on this scalewhatsoever.

Its not so much that I am not annoyed by this, but the fact that I am Just tired of not being heard. I Express my dissatisfaction with something, offer suggestions and nothing is ever fixed... the rifleman class is dying. Dont Believe me? Stand in Coronet asking for training in Expert concealment Tacticsand see how many people ask you if thats a Smuggler skill, not to mention you will never get said training.

with every "update" more and More go over to the commando or BH Side and who can blame them? seriously. Commandos are "Rebalanced" and now melt down AT-STs in seconds... while EVERYTHING else is being nerfed. Im Reallyshocked they havent Nerfed a chefs Skillet yet

Sorry Off track here.... Point is no amount of screaming, crying, b****ing, complaining, whinning, snivelling, begging, pleading, praying, or human virgin sacrifices will fix anything. the Devs have their own agenda, they give a F**** about us. In the end I know that I Do hold the ultimate power though, when I've had enough of this Bull----- they are trying to pass of as Star Wars, My cancelled subscription just may be a determining factor in someone being laid off.

As it is now, I can wear out a rifle in one days play. I think the rate of decay is too fast.

Ive noticed that being smacked about with my rifle equiped by a melee mob will reduce its condition greatly too..

Hi!

To bee short: it IS too much ...

I cant exactly confirm that slice weaps decay faster but it has been said from the beginning that it does.

I wish that the devs would realise that this is a bad change. But Im afraid that no devs ever look in here. Im not sure they even know how fubar we are. I tried adressing a tread to Thunderheart on the SWG Discussion forum, but it didnt get replied. What I really need to know if it this works as intended, that we are supposed to buy a new rifle every day, or if it is a screw up like everything else.

I agree totally that the decay rate is way too fast for powerups. I also agree with Sandzibarr totally. Not only do we suffer 2.5x melee damage, but it also damages our rifles which obviously we aren't using to defend ourselves since we get 2.5x damage.

Devs clearly do not play their creations and are utter clueless as to the results of their nerfs. They seem to be in love with their ideas and ignore the results.

I could live with the decay rate if I didn't have to buy 3 or 4 weapons each time I want a new one - generally it takes that many to get a decent slice (or any kind of damage slice).

Using up a 35k T21 in a few days might be ok (since I can make that in missions), but when you bought 3 or 4 to end up with the one you wanted...
