lunge1 is 15m which posture changes (novice brawler)


lunge2 is 20m which is a knockdown (master brawler)



lag may have an effect on how you or your opponent views the range, but these ARE the ranges.

hello, i have a question? in PvP can one person be attacked by more than one person or is it only one on one fighting. i have never done PvP.



also, Snipers work in teams of two and snipers are an essential part of a squad.If the target(s) are weak then solo combat is a realistic possiblity. snipers should not be taking down large targets or armored targets by themselves. yeah i know the second person is usually the spoter. once a sniper is spotted then their life expentancy drops to "need miricle to live any longer" status.


so lets have fun but where not Gods on the battle field. that is artllary!

PVP can take place as both duels between 2 consenting individuals of any faction (including neutral) or in an proportion if said players are overt or have TEF (Temporary Enemy Flag) from healing or grouping with overts.


As for Rifleman... with the dynamics of this game you cannot think of Rifleman as a Sniper. The only thing Sniper about Rifleman is our ability to unleash large ammounts of damage to the head. If anything, Rifleman should be compared to a Rifleman in the millitary, holding an M16.


The only way we could ever be transformed to pure snipers is having range outside of other professions, which would unbalance us. (*cough* combat medic *cough*)

I am new to the SWG game and i am learning about all the professions. it is important to know what can and cant be done with your profession. This way you can have an effective strategy. if everyone can shoot at a max of 1sec per shot, why would they cap rifleman at 3sec? ok so everyone can shoot a max distance of 64m. but Riflemenhavea bonus for long range shooting but at a cost of mobility and defense.what professions allow fora bonus for shooting that does not forcethem to be prone?the point i am getting at would be what advantage does a rifleman have over other professions?


Fine we are not snipers.but we mustperform as snipersand have weaknesses that a sniper would have. thecloser a target the less effective we are.Is this accurate? i am definetly not griping.strategy on how to use a weapon or special is one thing. how to effectivly role play and use your character is what i am looking for. i do a pretty good job. butwhen i soloor fight in a very small group ido not always usegood tacticts. i get killed a lot.so i dont feel that i use my abilities correct. Maybe i am not advanced enough in the profession and i am being impatient.

I agree with all of you in the sharpshooters role, i think the biggest advantage that snipers are missing is the distance, they should at least be able to shoot 128, that's not far at all, in reality tems. That would give them the advantage they deserve. A good fighting tactic i've used with my sharpshooter is to be a novice ch and have your animal run up and keep them at a distance while you nail them from a distance. Or fight in large groups, and stay back as far as you can so that others get attacked up close, while you sit back and collect that xp!!!!


Oh, and how can any character lunge 20m, that's ridiculous, the Devs need to seriously think about changing that down to like 3m, seems a little more realistic.

Yeah! i definately agree. Lets have melee lunging at 3m and 1.0 firing speed heavy armor piercing any type of damage rifleman firing at 120m! omg it sounds really balanced no one will go rifleman then... hang on 50% of the swg community is already rifleman. hmm lets just change the name to swrifleman.
