I've only been back since pre-CU for 3 days now, and I had a question about my rifle. I have an 865 dps T-21 that has a speed of 0.9 after modification and powerup (40% modded so farfor damage, powerup is -28.5% speed). Is speed capped at 1.0 like before the CU? Is that average, good, great dps for a modded and PUP's Krayt enhancedrifle?

I don't know much about stats, caps, etc since the CU so please educate me.

Isuspect that if you are going to take the time to chide someone, you should also take the time to answer thier question. I browsed through the FAQ and didnt see any caps, although i did see a speed formula, so would anyone else care to enlighten us? Are there caps on specific weapons, and is there a cap on how much speed you can gain through proffesion stacking (M. Rifles, M. Marksman, M. Carbs gives quite a bit)? Also, I have the previously mentioned profs and having a +20 speed tape doesnt show any difference on my modified speed from when it is not equipped. Any reason why that is?

The reason you don't see speed caps is because there is no such thing.

+20 speed is pretty small increase if you have lots of speed and a lot of increase if you have little speed. Speed and pretty much any other stat now has no caps - but they work on dimishing returns. So the more you have the less it helps.

Sorry dont know how to quote properly

Speed is on diminishing returns?? i made a whole template maxing out general speed.. and it does barely anything? im gonna cry for all that wasted grinding..

i'd guess a good speed cap to hit would be clsoe to M.BH, M.rifles, & pistols 4xxx and FS pistols with +25 rifle sea and +25 range SEA. = 192 though when i got tapes to get me from 164 speed (rifles) to 177 i saw about 0.02 improvement in my rifle speed. now theres some nice deminishing returns for you!

There's a chart somewhere that can out around the CU that shows the increase in speed as you get more speed modifiers.

As I remember it, I wanted to be around 120-130, because after that not only did your speed not go up much more (fractions of a second), but it therefore took a lot of mods just to get a noticable difference.

Speed maywork ondiminishing returns, but more is still better than less.

When weapons are capped on damage, all that's left is speed.

true, but its kinda lame that a +20 doesnt even change it by .01

One thing to keep in mind about diminishing returns is that they dont mean you can't be fast. If you have a really high speed.. +20 might not really help you.. but you will already be shooting REALLY fast.
