Thread: DAMAGE CUT by 75% in PVP!
Closehauled hit the nail right on the head, not Aldeon. How the hell Am I supposed to kill a Gurreck if the T-21 isn't fixed and the damage is reduced by 75%? I'm asking this cause I sure as hell ain't gonna be killeable.
Plus, I heard rumors from the Test Center that only PC had the 75% reduction, but guess what, pet still hit for 100%. I cannot confirm this however.
For the BH, it just became the ultimate PVP class with CH. So they upped the cost of knockdown...so what, lets say the doubled it. It was costing around 40 Ham before, now 80 (its a huge increase) but knockdown is very much spammable anyway.
Read the patch notes also, and you will find a line that say:

Eyeshot ^power has been upgraded, and knockdown will increase the damage it does by 50% while everyone else is reduced by 75%. I wont complain before I see it on a battlefield, but it seems to me that the stongest PVP profession just got stronger..........................
This seems counter productive. This will hurt us the most. We have the slowest fire rate of any weapons plus we do not have the ability to Knockdown. Thus all a Smugglar or Bh needs to do is shoot us with a Knockdown move, then do one of their other powerful moves or two before then shooting us with another knockdown and two more moves and we die. Before we could get lucky and get in a shot for 1200 or so once in awhile and kill them now if we get in a shot for 1200 it will actually do what? 300 damage? We just can not compete with the speed of the weapons, heck a pistol can be sliced and poweruped to be 1.1 speed, do a knockdown then shoot your most powerful attack 3 times, say stopping shot, before it would do about 400-800 damage, you can shoot these 3 times before the person gets up.
Anyone see the problem with this? Speed combined with Knockdown will ultimately rule, because even our best 2000 damage attacks will only be doing 500 damage! I hope Sony see's the problems with this and fixes it before they put it live. As i will not PVP anymore till they fix it as Before I could atleast hope to kill, now i can hope to be killed just about as quick!
I'm glad to hear this, people complaining about not being able to one shot people really haven't run into fights like i have we're one of my shots missed and i was instantly killed by someone. There's a large number of things the rifleman has going for them in PvP:
- we have the cover skills which drastically increases our accuracy while making it harder for the enemy to hit us
- we get a dizzy shot very early on which is a status not many people have defence against, it's alot better than a knock down especially since you can force a posture change in someone.
- someone who is dizzy has very little chance of standing up for around 8 seconds, more than enough time to nail them with another flurry or a headshot
- people CANNOT heal mind damage, we can heal our wounds that are caused by pistols and carbines very easily thus allowing us to outlast any other weapon users
- lastly, we're designed to work best when grouped with faster weapon users. rifles have and alway will be used only for sneak attacks and as support for a group of attackers. So naturally you're supposed to struggle in 1 on 1 against a smart opponent who doesn't die in one hit
I understand Tal-N that its all good and well on paper, but:
Cover isn't working
Posture change isn't working
We do non healable damage, but for this we actually need to have time to deal damage, with BH and CH, its far from evident.
I,ll still enjoy PVP, but will stir away from BH and CH if I'm alone.
knockdown will hurt us. remember: a doc can buff up to 2200 in any non blue stats. they can spam knockdown all day long.......
the 2.5x damage that we recieve from melee range will "screw us over big time". Why? With a fully doc buffed pistoleer coming at you----> He will reach you before you kill him.
The 75% damage reduction will kill rifleman.
You guys know wanring shot works on pets? I use it all the time on pets, and then they just sit there. Usually the CH doesnt notice becuase they think its chasing me. If pistol accuracy is decreased at max range, then we will be fine.
None of these scenarios will matter if your in a group. Make yourselves 2 or 3 rifleman instead of one. One with medic skills, so you can heal or buff. Or get in a full on group with 10 people, assist for damage on the mind. Its group orientated now, your right, soloing sucks now. Soloing is 10 times harder, so find a rifleman, say hey pal, and make him your friend.
The styles is increased by 50 percent after the 75 percent reduction as I understand. So the 800 will be doing 200, wich at knockdown will then do 300damage. Your right Bounty hunters are going to be the major thing, eye shot will win. But if there accuracy is decreased at 64 meters making them miss much like we do at 20, then it will give us somewhat a fair fight, we can probably get off 2 shots before they get to us.
CloseHauled I also remember you using the E11, now with the T21, at base AR0, its doing around 2400 a shot as people have told me. Thats 600 damage after the reduction, now you do the 50 percent bonuses for AR. (Assuming there not wearing ST or Marine armor.) Gives you a nice boost, its going to be 2 shots instead of 1, and 1 on the people with lower mind. There is still hope left if they fix the T21.
