Dang, I have solo'd them with just rifles.... well I have run for miles spamming HS3 and used the kind creatures on Dath as Tanks 
I know the weaponthey pull out does seem to make a big difference, but I know a lot of swordsmen who can solo them no problem..... but they have some good Def vs Mods stacked..... It might be the last of Def vs Dizzy and KD that is letting you down.

Im working on a pure PVE temp and im going with Master rifle/swords, 4004 tkm and nov medic

here is my template:
master rifleman
TKM
pistoleer 0042
smuggler 0010
enhanced reflex 0002
With this template i can't solo an elder, but my melee def is capped with bio clothes, ranged def is 119 & i have pretty decent kd/dizzy def from pistoleer. It's alot of fun & when i go hunting i can either tank very well or light em up with my t21.

Sorry about the caps but had to get your attention. Feign Death no longer works in PVP. You try it in PVP and you just become a easy target. Thank you Pushlish 14. Still works in PVE though. So if you're hoping to use it incase you get ganked by overt then you're in for a big surprise.

Uh, i didn't take feign death to use it in pvp, never have. I just took it upbecause i play on off hours, & usually by myself.

I should say that I want to be the master at solo PVEing. I really don't care about PVP right now, if I did I would be defence stacking. Having said that I was in groups this weekend trying the template out....Here is a little story.
OK, this Saturday I had Master Rifle and Smuggler 0010 only (no swords or TKM yet). I went out and hunted krayts, and this was my first use of Feign Death. I found it to be useful, especially with Ancients on me. Also, I went up on the Corvette and it was definitely handy when I aggroed 3 SBDs (um, ok, that was a mistake - lol). I actually spent a full hour on the Vette and never died thanks to FD, so I find it very useful. I never did that on my previous trips.
Sunday I finished Master Swords. Now I will grind the rest into Medic 0030 and hope that I can heal myself enough. I will post back here with more comments on this template for those considering it. Who knows, I may still go to TKM if I find I need more medic, but so far so good.
