Thread: What's the best pet to guard a rifleman?

I soloed two kimogilas with a mountain krevol and myself a few days ago. Cost my whole mind pool, and poor little EvilKrevol was nearly incapped, but that's a helluva feat for a doc/rifleman. In factional PvE I use a rock beetle because it has a 5% better energy resist, the same hams, and the same armor.

This is the best combo possible. Krevol for kinetic, beetle for energy.

A good book to read in the cloning and med centers?
They're kind of slow, but I find when reading a good book I don't get incapped or die near as much.Stay away from the Technical Books, as they drain the mind pool faster, and find yourself a good Fiction Book. They aren't quite as powerful, but you can use them longer with less mind drain.

A pet is the single best thing I ever got as a rifleman. With a pet, BAF mobs are the best thing going.

1) Send pet in.
2) pause until all MOBs have hit pet once
2) Flushing shot 2.......until they all die or you lose your mind
3) rinse and repeat.

On a recent trip to Dathomir, I sent my pet into a pocket of 6 baz nitches. I got lucky with my laser rifle and killed all six in 3 shots.....at 4K XP per baz that was 24K XP in less than a minute. Tap both nests. Heal pet while the six new ones spawn. Pop, pop, pop, tap, heal, pop, pop, pop..... fastest 75K XP I ever got. You do need a good rifle, close nests, and some Muon to pull this off.

My suggestion: Wait and pray for combat droids.

supersparc is right on the money, i can't believe more ppl don't do this for XP. it's the PERFECT rifleman xp machine!

get yourself a krevol or a rock beetle ( i have a rock beetle) (if you're non-ch). you will also need a crapload of stim b's. (packs of 30x 200+ work fine).

a sliced T21 (mine is only 395 max dmg). Max dmg 30% / Mind 15% OR speed 30% / mind 15% powerups will help as well.

you don't need spice, but it can make things faster (i've never used muon gold/spice yet).

You will also need flushingshot2 (area of effect shot).

get regular baz nitch missions, get to lair. tell beetle to attack the baz nitches, attack each one that's 'idle' until they are ALL in combat with beetle. lay prone at about 45-50m and spam flushingshot2. they will all die very quickly heal up your bug, regen your mind, rince and repeat.

the only tricky part is tapping the lair so you don't get warped on. attack it with the beetle, the first time you tap they will spawn very quickly, as soon as one spawns, tell beetle to attack, use flushing2, more will spawn, tab onto them and tell beetle to attack them (so they engage with the beetle and not you). rince and repeat. lairs only ever spawn creatures twice. (u kill the initial baznitches, poke lair, spawn, kill, poke lair, spawn, kill, kill lair.)

3k+ xp for each baz nitch (less for the young/babies). 40k xp for the entire lair, minimum.

thats the fastest xp possible imo.

clearing 100k an hour if you're efficient. oh, and when you're poking the lairs, use an E11 or something, then switch to your t21 to kill baznitches. i usually using flushing 1 or 2 on a lair when poking. also, sit 45m away from lair, at that range you can still give commands to the bug without having to /shout.

enjoy!

Master Doc buffed Mountain Krevol. Honestly I find it a bit abusive but hey, until BE's get 'D' Class buffs it's a nice perc.

My sololing tips are just repeats. Use power-up's period. I use a combo of Yorrak and food for my mind boost. Ice Blaster or Vercaputi are great downer killers. Muon scares the dickens out of me for anything but PvP.

Well here is my experience through trail and error , i now have considerable skill in CH and rifleman , that being said if you want a really nice non-CH pet get a charred krevol from Rori . Some will say get a cowardly gurreck but from my experience ive found a charred krevol does much better and i hunt pubam on endor and nightsisters on dathomir

Yes the cowardly gurreck has more ham but the ranged attack on the krevol is a lifesaver.

Now if you get 1/1/0/0 in CH i recommend a grand wrix . As i say this from my own trail and error. Ive used almost every pet you think of and i still use my grand wrix when hunting . The main argument is greater sludge panther vs grand wrix. Ive found that my grand wrix last ALOT longer than a gsp when i use them to tank for me .

On to the 2/2/0/0 mark. Graul ... as for my experience i've found that this a extremly bad as a tank because it will run from your target and cause the target to aggro you . I recommend a merek assassin.

After that i almost strictly use my mature hanadak rock smasher , merek and grand wrix . As a side note blood stained merek suck as tank they have NO kinetic defense . And i haven't reached the point of rancor or gurreck yet , but i'll be more than happy to let you know what i find out .

5500 HAM, Light armour, the kinetic resist is somewhere between 30-50 % I forget.

Well I'd say it depends on what you hunt.

I take anything in the game out short of krayts and gorax's (and thats just because I hate the damage they do to my pets)

Im master CH and master rifleman. I use either a gurreck (kitties never fall behind on the map) or 2 graul maulers for when I need big tanks. ( why i use them is ill have them aggro an ENTIRE mob of big animals.. gurrecks.. mereks etc.. then I spam strafe shot 2 with either my sliced, krayted, and powered up dlt20a or my sliced krayted poweruped las rifle. doing this you can make 900k rifleman exp in 6 hours on endor killing mass spawns of baz nitches.
