I disagree though with the last statement. I've downed many a player and npc with Flurry2 / SuppressionFire/ FlushShot2. They fall on their ass for a few seconds, switch to your slower weapon with higher damage and give them a couple good shots. Rinse, repeat. Obvoiusly you have to have buffs as well.
And keeping with the relevancy of the thread, I think rifleman is fantastic right now (aside from the worthless +block and SupriseShot).I've been a rifleman for several months now and every skill I get makes it a little more fun to play. And I dont think its fun because its uber, not by any means. When I'm enraged rancor hunting and we have our 2H sword guy with us I can barely get a hit in because he hits the mind pool for 6000 damage every time he uses Scalp Slam. Oviously we are not overpowering any other professions and we are not uber. I dont believe there is a nerf coming, but I am certainly against any type of rifleman nerf. Dont mess with a good thing I say (unless its to fix things that are non functional

Rifleman will be nerfed because that is what happens in this game it does not matter they level slowly or are a hard profession to learn how to play what matters is the shrill cries of nerf being heard across the galaxy.
Rather then fixing the HAM cost or def stacking issues (which will take alot more time and work) the devs nerf. In time i think all these issues will be addressed but right now rifleman is the proffession being flocked too so it is the one that will be hit with the nerf. ![]()
Rifleman are working....and leave it like that, the AOE attacks make it gunner material, but imo a heavy machine gun would be kool to launch some AOE carnage....
Pistoleer....its all ok but master needs a lil boost...what about duel wielding at master?....it effectively doubles your dpsbut you cant usemost specials (either you canuse bodyshot, or no specials).
Carbineer.....should be the support, imo if you were to fix this it would rock, they should be able to rush in and criple the enemy in every possible way! AOE dizzy and AOE KD, who on earth wouldnt love that!
BountyHunter.....should have some defence they are an offenceprof but ituses all of you Sp (you can dabble in medic or ranger but its nothing amazing) so it shouldhave defence.
Commando.....flamer rocks, make the rest of work, fix the HAR and give it a kick andincrease rocket / grenade accuracy so u can use them in PvP and not waste 10k and not hit, add some status effects to the grenades, perhaps have a flashbang with AOE dizzy and blind and a Pulse gren which had AOE KD, so grenades were a support option, as irl, grenades arent used for direct offence, rather a tactical aid. And imo combine the HAR and flamer line (as they are the same
) and add a Launcher Pisol line, and lower the OTTness off it as it lags way too much :/
TKA....fine leave it
Fencer....from what ive seen its great (ive seen them solo fort tuskan better than TKA and outdamage them every time ive seen them)
Swordsman....i like this prof ^_^ sling me a sythe an ill bash away....slightly better def would be nice but imo not a major issue.
Pikeman.....Well i see on the forums...we miss too much etc etc, but from what ive seen and told in game at master this isa nice prof but i havnt seen them much so cant comment

Yeah, gotta say - dueled a master rifleman yesterday (not a friendly duel, not PvP, another reason). He taunted me to go outside where before initing battle he got in range took out his rifle, and pounded me. I'm a TMK, I hit center of being yet the shots were dead accurate. He incaped me in 2 shots, only way I survived from being dbed, was to force of will as he was running to me, got up and knocked him down and beat the tar out of him. 2 shots for him incaping me was a bit rough, on top of that, I had somewhere near 120 BF, which is pretty crazy.
I think that riflemen shouldn't be really nerfed as much as I think that SOE should make it where some professions negate the ability to go into other professions. For example, I see tons of people who are TKAs and Bounty Hunters, Pistoleers, Commandos, etc. I think it's a little extreme to allow people to be a walking death machine. I think that maybe devs should consider that a user takes a "Main" profession, and a "Sub" type profession, and allow people to work on them, and dabble into other stuff - but receive severe hits against their abilities.
For example, lets say my main is TKA, and my secondary is Medic - that I won't be as good at medic as a true medic, but still will be effective. Lets say I can go into CH, or something else - but automatically lose a lot of the abilities in the new fields I'm trying. This would keep people from picking the best combination of character elements, stacking, and then being a 1-man army. That's simply stupid they allow it, it's one reason why team work in this game is very very gimped.

You avoid the nerf by stating these arguments over and over again.
1. If you profession has broken skills (pistoleers) get them fixed instead of breaking ours.
2. If you are a non master fighting a master and get owned then you need to suck it up and leave
3.IF you are complaining that we are impossible to hit.........We have stated several times this is a bug and it will be fixed
4. (cont from 3)using the defense stacker argument is pointless as that too is getting fixed
5. RIfleman are horrible until they cross that master gap, dont say thaty are not because unless you have crossed that gap then you have no idead the difference it can make.
6. The jawa ion is a awesome PVP weapon and is what really set us apart from the other classes. Dont nerf this as it is the balancer for those who can afford comp to those who cant. Yes more weapons need to use stun dmg to offset the power of this gun. This way people will have to choose if they will be safer with or without armor.
7. All armor should have weaknesses unfortunately the only major one is stun. There should be a decent stun protection armor, but the downside is that it should be vulnerable to almost everything. Otherwise PVP boils down to has the best armor. Stun weapons are meant to be the equalizers, but more classes need access to this damage.
8. Another point I would like to shut down is our accuracy up close. Up close we do hit a little too often, but pistols also hit way too often at ranges over 30meters. Until this is "Fixed" it would be unfair to lessen our accuracy.
9. Stop complaining about mind damage. Until master BH and CM's deal mind damage much much better than us. Also without food and buffs we do roughly 100 points more dmg to you than we do to ourselves. Before you say use food and buffs, we do but why dont you when fighting us?
10. Mind is also the hardest stat to buff. It takes approx 8-10 min for a full buff and that buff only doubles our current stats unlike getting between 1000-3500 for all the other stats in side of 2 mins.
11. Riflemen have a tremendous dmg potential at master, and up until a few months ago this was balanced by being one of the hardest proffessions in the game to master. However with the removal of the 2.5x melee dmg and the fixing of conceal shot made leveling easier. This was compounded with the Holo grinders and the defense stackers. Thus before the fix the power at master was very justified as only a very few number had the will to stick through the grind.
12. As for our speed...IF we fire a 3 sec spd cap and we miss our opening shot or do low dmg we are toast, as most other classes in teh game can shred anyone in that 3 sec timeframe

I kept fighting and killing imps for an hour. Then a Rifleman came, with a uber jawa rifle. He took out my 3,5k mind in before I could even react.
I have 13% to stun on my helmet, but that didnt help much when he took around 400 mind every shot.
I was dueling a friend without armor a few days ago, he took more damage with his Jawa rifle, then with his T-21 rifle - that shouldn't be possible, a stun weapon should at least be less damaging then a normal weapon for the profession.
Like the tangler pistol, and stun baton have weak damage.

400 mind every shot with a jawa? Maybe a krayt. My jawa is 400 something max dmg it is the best I have seen on my server, and the HS3 multiplier is only 3x. As for a Jawa out dmging on a unarmored that is BS or must have been a very crappy T21 as my T21 has 200 more max dmg than my jawa with powerups.
