I agree whole heartedily.

I actually had someone that just started the game come up to me and tell me that I am doing everything wrong,

My gun is not as powerful as theirs, and they could out damage me because he was a guy and I was a "gurl"...

/roll eyes.

I took him on, and not only wiped out the entire lair before he got his 2 creatures down, but I allowed him to View my Laser. /evilGrin

He asked me where I got the gun and I just smiled, his response was,

"well for a Gurl, you do ok i guess."

I asked him how old he was in RL, he said 13, and I almost busted a gut laughing.

When he asked what was so funny, I told him I was old enough to be his Mother and than told him my age.

LOL he was so upset that an "Old Lady" could know more about Rifles than he did.

I told him I had been RifleWoman since I started playing, *launch* And I did know what I was talking about.

He started yelling, that was it, he quit the game, and why are there a Bunch of Old [EDITED] playing a "Kids" game and anyone over the age of 17 should be kicked out and deleted. ROFLOL.

Poor kid needs some serious help.

I told him to RE-Read the Eula and see what Age limit it was, and that with the consent of their Parents, could they be allowed

to play the game.

So, Yes, I know where you are comming from Magen.

I have a Major problem with people, kids, whatever thinking that just because we are in our 20's and 30's and so forth that we aren't

allowed to have fun on the computer because it's for "kids only".

Just because we are Mature, doesn't mean we can't enjoy ourselves.

I see a lot more disrespectful children, and some adults even in game that should be taught a lesson in In game Ediquite (spell check please. )

Oh man that is soooo friggin hilarious!

I just imagine what his reaction would be if he were to have come across me. I'm a 51 yr. old man (i.e. a true Old Fart!) that not only plays this game but I am Guild Leader to my Guild. Sheesh some of these kids need a trip or two across someones knees! (i.e. a good old fashioned public bare butt whoopin!). LOL

I am 32 and I agree with us "old farts" that this game can be enjoyed by all. I have been playing video games since Atari (had the first release at Xmas that year, Commodore 64, and Apple IIe, Castle Wolfenstein hehe...

But on another note I picked up rifles at launch and it took me FOREVER to level up. First off I wasn't even guilded for months, didn't realize about group hunts etc. So I totally hate the respec thing, although I might pick up some commando who knows.

I hear you. You have three choices:

1. Get bent out of shape because someone else got GIVEN in a minute what it took you days/weeks/months to EARN. This is a natural response, but I'd point out: they obviously spent time earning something ingame, and then turned their back on all that time in favour of rifles... but they didn't have the fun doingRifles the way you did, and they didn't get to learn the profession the way you did, so even though it says Master Rifleman under their names, they're still rifle rookies, so hey: you're still cool.

2. Ignore the rookies until they've got time in. This is understandable, but cliquish, and difficult to validate unless you only extend respect to those people you know who've been with the profession a long time. Seems like a lot of work.

3. Extend a helping hand of welcome to those new to the profession - whatever level they've respec'd to - and help them learn to be good rifles and good members of the community, representing the profession well (i.e. no griefing or exploiting, no calling down the nerf bat with their antisocial antics).

Personally I choose #3... but every once in a while I remind them about #1.

well i am not ashamed to say i DID respec into rifleman, but that doesnt mean i didnt earn it, i spent a very long time mastering carbines, and the respec allowed me to switch to a different gun basically. there is however alot of hostility towards people who respected into their SACRED profession, and its a bit immature, (not accusing anyone in this thread).

regardless wether you like it or not, its SOE's fault for people flocking to the rifleman profession, you think you have it bad, do a search for MasterBounty Hunters....someone brought up close to 67 in one search.

I'm a MCM/ 4303 rifleman (haven't respeced a thing) and I read both forums pretty closely. Last week or so, a post like this was made in the combat medic forum and people ripped him apart! Lets face it, grinding combat medic is a lot easier than rifleman, so it can be a little frustrating to see someone who mastered an easy grind profession respec over, because it lessens (in our own mind) the importance of our hard work. But you have to remember it's not the players fault they loved an easy grind profession (I still love combat medic) before the CU and now want to try something like rifleman.

To those who respec from other combat proffesions that stem from brawler/marksman. You've done the work and you're welcome to the proffession. (unless you are a 13 year old know all! Hehe! I'm older too!)

Why do I get ticked off every time I see someone post "hi, I respec'ed into Master Rifle today and never ever once picked up a rifle before.. what is this T-21 you're talking about?"

Im not sure where this animosity is coming from. I never macro'ed to get my xp and every xp earned was a cherished Rifleman's memory (coming from someone that has a Master Doc/Master CM thats saying something).. I worked my hiney off to get Master RIfle over a year ago... is it just me, or are all the other Professions feeling this way? To be honest, I felt this way when Jedi were able to respec and pick up any Master they wanted then too, even if they'd never gotten a single XP in it. Maybe I just need a massage.. LOL

P.S. this post is sincere. I need someone to reassure me its ok to have all these new Riflemen with no experience in the profession.. LOL

This is a very selfish attitude. Especially seeing that many profession combos have been nerfed. Sure its nice for you to still be Rifles, and rifles to still be a great profession.

I was TKM/Doc before respec. These were 2 of the most nerfed professions in the game. Boring+Boring=Dead.

These people obviously had enough points to respec to master or near to master in some profession, so they wouldnt of been far off. Otherwise they wouldnt have enough points to get to master. Most probably havent settled into their professioin choice yet anyway. Give them time, they will learn. You shouldnt care that theyknow nothing.

I cringe everytime i see anew Pistoleer, TKA, Fencer, BH, Carbineer, Rifleman, Doc.At least i canhave a good laugh about it and give them some pointers.

Ive been BH twice, Riflesman Twice, TKA Twice, Doc Twice. So I know what its about. Though if i had chosen to respec to something like Pikeman or Swords, then I wouldnt know anything about it.

I still find it amusing that I see MBH with no other masters because they respec to master thinking it will be awesome. Then go get killed. Though im not annoyed at them for being able to respec.

Another example. My alt is a Master Doc/ Merchant. For crafting only. Though now i cant respec to anything but combat for him. I cant respec to another craft since doc has been nerfed. Except BE. Which has no interest for me. I worked long and hard to grind doc again on my alt. Id like to respec to something like Weaponsmith. I think I earned something worthwhile. Sure i would be a newb and probably get crap from other WS, but what else am i to do. Unless i want to craft stim C/D all day.

Spoke too soon! Here come the offended respecters!

I agree with you though...you've definately earned the right to respec to anything you want. I think people just don't realize that other proffesions are as hard to grind as theirs. (except CM and Doc...lets face it you all used the tumbler!)

What are you talking about? Since around February 04 when people started realizing its potential, Rifleman has always been one of the most popular professions. Period.

heh, 35 here and just respecced my TKM/swords/commando to Master Rifleman. Before I was TKM I was Master Artisan, Master WS, Master DE (but that was just too many draft schematics to handle!).

Since the changes to the GCW came in I've been loving combat more and more. Even when I had only minimal marksman skills, my weapon of choice was rifle (I love my Tusken Rifle - even at Master Rifleman I love my Tusken).

Now I'm proud to bea Master Rifleman.

ps my Master Doc alt respecced to MBH and is picking up Carbineer - I have no shame
