I have a MR/master Doc on one server. Taht was/is my primary char. But I have started other chars on other servers. One is a melee, and the current on is a commando. I liked the idea of doing massive heavy weapon damage with flame throwers, etc.

But while trying to grind through other combat professions, I ALWAYS compare it to my MR and everything falls way way short (cept jedi) for PVE.

There is no reason to dabble in Rifleman period. We basically use strafe2, headshot3 and thats about it. Using a good AP3 t-21 on just about any mob in the game (minus spell protectors, etc) is just INSANE.

I dont even NEED armor for kinetic only mobs. Just buff myself and get mind buffed or brandy and one second spam SS2.

Im sure this is not intended buuut who cares, the game is so borked.

I guess MR has spoiled me so much that all other comabt combos just cant stack up. Its embarassing how much damage we catually do in PvE, but I like it!!

Well, I will still grind commando and hopefully at Master level it will be "close" to my MR dps but I somehow doubt it.

This isnt a troll post, just an observation by the way. I mean should we really be this powerful? (I hope the answer is

yes too)

Posts like this are what bring us constant cries for nerfage. The nerf-monkies read stuff like this and say, "See, even the Riflemen think they are most ubber."

But even so, this post is wrong on two counts. First, at Master Rifleman alone, it is mathematically impossible tofire a typical T21 at the speed cap. With a Master level speed of +90, you are firing an average 7.5 speed T21 at about 2.6seconds per shot. That is more than two and a half times the speed cap. The only way to get to the speed cap with that weapon is to get to +97 (actually, 96.2, but you cannot get .2 in speed mods). So it is simply not possible to fire Strafeshot2 at the cap with that weapon as just a Master Rifleman. You have to have help, which means it is not the fact that you are a Master Rifleman alone that is doing it.

Second, yes, we can kill stuff quickly, but so can most masters of an Elite profession. And, in fact, Swordsman is pretty much the undisputed king of PvE, not Rifleman. The hardest decision I have ever made in this game was to give up Master Swordsman/Master Brawler for Master Doc. I did so because I consider Master Rifleman as my primary profession, and I was tired of getting diseased and poisoned in PvP. But while I would fight PvP primarily as a Rifleman, in PvE, I would always go 2H Swords.

Take the Tusken fort, for instance, as a Master Swordsman/Master Brawler,I could kill everything there except the highest level Tuskens with two hits (Lunge2 followed by Hit3 or Headhit3), three at the most, and the higher level Tuskens would not take much more. Hunting Rancors on Dath, I would go up to the nest and just start spamming Area3 while 5 - 7 Enraged Rancorswasted their time pounding on me.When the dust settled, rarely did I even have to even heal myself. As a Master Rifleman, I can still target the lair and spam area effects shots, but it is far easier and saferto do as a Swordsman.

Yes, we are powerful. Yes, if we get +7 to speed, we can fire Strafeshot2 at one shot per second. But then any Elite profession that is working is very powerful and anyone hitting with their best special at the speed cap is going to do a lot of damage against targets that are not invulnerable to them.

So please, do not make posts like this. It distorts reality and gives the nerf-monkeys all the incentive they need to justify their warped little views that, if it were not for the evil riflemen, they would be the leetest dudes on the server.

Actually that is going to depend on the resists of the target. Rifleman will be good against some targets while Swordsman better against others. Especially in high end MOB's where there are very high resists and some cases invulnerabilities.

The rifleman or swordsman is a toss up for me there is allot of things I can blow through faster w my Swordsman Toon than my rifleman toon. But if im against a singel "big" target I find a master rifleman will do more damamge provided i can keep a decnet range. Ive seen a master rifleman at speed 2 other groups against acklay using a sliced powererd up t21. Now if im hunting Giant dune kimos my preference is to use the swords toon.

Yea I was a master rifle master swordsman for a while and I could tear up anything, just headshot3 until it got into range, then switched to my hammer and turned on my COB macro, then went nutty. The combo is deadly...with COB, and counter attack (which doesn't act like dodge, its better they miss AND they take damage) you hardly ever get hit. Before the specials patch I could take down a nightsister in like 8-12 minutes solo. I had to drop swords for chef, as my guild needed a chef, but I'm not dropping rifle any time soon...crafting hurts my fingers too much...

Try Master Heavy Swordsman. They are generally considered the PvE kings. With CoB and a their secondary defense of CounterAttack (which is currently acting like Dodge) you'll be doing the same as you are now with Master Rifle without armor.

It's a good melee profession for PvE. But so is TKA.

A master rifleman speed capped will out damage 2 master swordsman speed capped, i know this because it has happened before. As far as melee professions go, TKA is pretty weak in pve, the entire profession is kind of useless except for the meditate tree. I'm master rifles/master swords, speed capped with both, with the best ordinary T21 against the best ordinary power hammer, the rifleman slightly will do more damage than the swordsman, and only when the opponent has armour so AP3 kicks in, with a good Krayt T21 against a good Ackly powerhammer the swordsman will out damage the rifleman and it is far easier to get Acklay powerhammer than it is to get krayt T21's because T21's require 11 kray tissues. Waste is right that swordsman if the king PVE, rifles are good, and can form part of many powerfull templates, but on its own swords is the most powerfull PvE proffession.

Whether it be an NS elder or a Krayt a rifleman can easily Kill steal from a Swordsman. Rifleman has ranged andmore DPS with their best weapon. Swordsman needs master brawler and +10 in skill tapes to use an Acklay hammer. .. So I dont think you can compare the two.

Ya, but I didn't know what it was when I passed by, so I missed the pic. I had a lot of stuff happen that way: would be tracking down a good natural spawn for bonus hide and miss taking the pic sometimes. I'll go back sometime and get it.
