Excuse me for saying, how do you grind rifleman in 12 hours?!? Thats 3,725,000 rifles xp ... in 12 hours... How is that possible? Not mentioning the Combat xp.

Alright ShenMolo! A man after my own mind!
I started playing the game two weeks ago, going for Rifleman/Ranger, and a friend of mine started at the same time went for TKA/Doc. Well, I'll just say he went Doc for the ub3r buffs and the profit. Now he talks about fighting Nightsisters and Rancors on Dathomir, while I'm still sitting on Corellia sniping Hidden Bek's and Mottled Wrixes. I tried going to Dantooine w/o buffs and got my ass handed to me, so he came down and gave me some buffs. We fought there for a while, but you know what? It wasn't any fun. I had previously gone to Yavin buffed, and again, it was no fun. I just don't find becoming spontaneously THAT MUCH more powerful to be a compelling dynamic. It feels like cheating. Like I skipped over the middle half of the game to go straight for the last quarter.
I've since gone back to Corellia and gotten myself a nice, lightset of Bone armor (33% Energy!) so I can stand up to Imperials better. Conceal Shot is my best friend. I've got a decent T21 (unsliced) rifle (105 mind though, OUCH). I'm now looking for a droid that will complement my abilities and play style.

Excellent man! I hunt the hardest stuff I can: 10K or so beasties wearing nothing but my rifle and grin =) I'm a Wook too, so screw the armor! And the only food I ever eat is that delightful +500 Mind 60s that I forage!
You should look into a tank or two, I keep mine in reserve most of the time: a BE pet and a Auto-repair droid have saved my life more than once. The trick is tactics, Penacine Dart, Adhesive Mesh, Warning Shot, Suppression Fire, two reserve tanks, and I actually have Melee Knockdown from Pistoleer. It's a heck of a feeling when you sink a 10K beast without ever letting it touch you or your pets. =D

Nothing like laying down prone 50+ meters out .... with Mask Scent, use concealshot or HeadShot3 and take a big ugly down in no time without ever being targetted ... now thats sniper tactics. I hear you guys that are using non-buffs ... Im a Master Doctor, I mainly use it for wound healing and so on in the combat field ... I admit I do take low-level buffs for myself when I need them ... but Im not hooked on them b\c I still remember back in the day as well when Buffs was just a word no one knew **edit** it meant.
Tacklin Big Uglies with nothing but your Rifle and maybe a few pieces of armor if you was lucky !!!
Miss those days ...

You guys have inspired me...Im still a noob (3-4 weeks now) trying to master rifleman and I was about to breakdown and get buffed and buy some armor to pile up the XP and $$ but after reading this i have decided to avoid the buff for a while longer.

Ive played both sides of this. My first char is master doc/master rifleman and hes ALL ways buffed and just wades through everything, but my second char is a master ranger/ 4122 riflewoman and is almost NEVER buffed(rangers dont like towns).
There is no limit to what you can kill with time and tatics. As my alt is collecting RIS componets unbuffed. I have solo'd and killed 4 peko peko albatross, there 80-87k in each ham bar. Gurk Kings and the lairs 10-12k ham good resists on them. Giant dune Kimogila, These are well mean with over 100k ham and a random bleed sometimes but ive still killed one without doc buffs, I have to use a lot of food to keep my mind pool full and loads of stims to stop incapping myself but its possible to kill them.

proprs to ya man. I have been having more fun lately trying things unbuffed then running around in god mode all the time.
I use mostly pike, but with the rifle skill I have been doing 150level mecenary and nym mission on lok unbuffed/no armor and kimos np.
best unbuffed accomplishments with the pike are a NS protector and a Juvie canyon krayt dragon.(that was quite a fight btw)
good luck to ya man

I agree with both of you. I kind of miss the old days. I never have wanted to grind and i think that takes alot of the fun out of things. I took my time to get to master and i have much more of a feeling of accomplishment becuase it took so long. Now i do admit i get buffed now to hunt the high level things. And i use brandy, Canape and recently Ahrisa. However i can't wait until the combat balance. I think this will force you to use different tactics.

More power to you ShenMolo!
Allthe old-timers like me will remind you that up until this year, we didnthave any doc buffs or decent food. I mastered rifle without armor, without buffs, and without food. The ONLY thing I used was Muon Gold for emergencies. And at the same time, we had the famous x2.5 Melee damage penalty and creature warping. If you don't know what those were, it meant a creature would sometimes warp to your position and kill you with one blow.
But you know what? It FORCED you to use tactics! You learned to appreciate Warning shot, Suppression fire, and Threaten shot. Let the poor grinders have their Master Rifle in 12 hours. They probably finish with their girlfiends in 20 seconds and brag about it too. I enjoyed those days and actually miss them somewhat. It took me several months to master, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

unbuffed hunting is the win.
my experience as a rifle/ch is that i dont need buffs to do my hunting, doctor buffs that is. you still need some food/drink to offset those ham costs or you will be stimming yourself each mob and resting to recover your burnt mind because most all of the weaponsmiths in the game have ditched trying to keep ham costs down on their weapons in favor of max damage and range mods. why did theydo that? because with chefproducts and doc buffs, ham costs are negated.
with that said, i still have some "low-ham" t-21's in my house, and i specifically go with a laser rifle for most of my pve hunting. why the laser? ham costs pure and simple, and it still packs a huge punch in pve. the T-21 is used only on the mobs that need the extra AP.
bet alot of rifles would love to have the current damage but at the old 30-30-60 ham costs instead of 70-70-105 etc.

What about this?
How the hell is it posible to kill a Tusken Observer?
For who don't know this guy it's 244k ham, resistent over a crazy level and do hits up to 2000-2500 damage each shoot (on me that I have 117 ranged def)!
I bumpt into this monster at the exit of the suill cave on tat! It incapped me with 2 shoots (I was buffed for 3500 or so ham!) as I was without the armor (lol I don't use armor in the cave). Forceofwill and I was up again, run into the cave to be safe (yes among the squills ...), put the armor and do a quick assault on him (tka too). In solo I could have been still there doind 50-80 damage/hit.
I run away and he incapped me again with 2 shoots having 3 squills guardians on him!
I didn't die, I returned after a while to do concealed shoot on him and he killed me from 63m away under covert!!
Man if I see an other tusken observer I'll run, definitely!
